It was their first year anniversary. One year ago, Dream had asked Techno on a date, and now they're frantically getting ready for the big occasion. Dream was picking out his outfit with George and Sapnap, while Techno was stressing out about the plans. "Wilbur, help." He said after dialing the phone.

"What's wrong." Wilbur sighed.

"I can't decide where we should go."

"I thought you figured that out weeks ago."

"I know, but now I'm rethinking it, I think Dream might like something else more."

"Techno, it's fine, he'll be happy no matter what."

"You don't know that! He could break up with me if this goes poorly."

"No he won't. Go to bed, your plans are perfect."

Techno reluctantly hung up and flowed into bed, mind still racing with everything that could go wrong. But he just had to relax, he knew it. It took a few hours, but eventually he went to sleep.

Day break came and both Dream and Techno were frantically getting ready, taking showers, styling their hair, making sure their outfits were worn properly, both excited for what would come. Techno showed up at Dream's apartment with a bouquet of colorful flowers. They both blushed as they saw each other, their passion and surprise not fading with time.

"Happy anniversary babe." Techno smiled, offering the flowers.

"Happy anniversary sweetie." Dream put the bouquet back in his room, but Techno kept a pink one to put in Dream's hair, which complemented his hair perfectly. They held hands as they walked to Techno's car. "So, where are we going?" Dream asked.

"It's a surprise, you'll figure it out." Techno replied confidently.

They showered each other with compliments and conversation as they drove to their first location, a small park on the edge of town. Techno grabbed a picnic basket out of the trunk and they walked up the short hike to a lovely view, overlooking a valley with trees in a warm gradient because of the fall weather. They sat at a bench and enjoyed each other's company as they ate. Techno had made sure to prepare Dream's favorites, Parmesan chicken sandwiches and apple potato salad. He was worried about the temperature, but they turned out really well.

"No dessert?" Dream asked.

"Hold up, we're barely getting started."

They made their way back to the car and drove back into town to a tennis court. Dream's favorite sport was tennis, and Techno was willing to play it with him today, even though there was no doubt who would win. After changing into their athletic outfits, they played for hours. Surprisingly, Techno won once near the end when Dream was exhausted. They sat on the court, flopped on each other as they recovered from the workout, neither of them caring that the preparation from that morning was wasted.

"That was awesome!" Dream celebrated. "It was a lot of fun playing with you."

"We'll savor it because it won't happen again for another year." They both laughed, though Techno was kind of serious.

"If it makes you feel any better, I love you."

"Dude, you keep rushing ahead, where's your sense of buildup." Techno fake complained.

They soon made their way to the next spot, a boba tea place both had shown interest in, though it was a new experience for both. Dream ended up not liking it that much, but he joked about it a lot, which made Techno feel much less guilty. After their tea, they went to see a movie, specifically the new romance one. It was cute and they held hands the entire time, but Techno ended up regretting not watching at home because they weren't able to cuddle at all. The next activity they just walked around the mall, window shopping and cracking jokes. It was relaxing to not have a plan, which Dream quickly noticed in Techno's posture. In fact, they spent much longer at the mall than Techno had intended, showing up at their dinner registration an hour late. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't that crowded, Techno had only booked it for safety.

"Oh! This is the first restaurant we ever went to isn't it?" Dream noticed.

"Yeah, I wanted to fondly remember the past and all that." Techno replied bashfully.

Dream's eyes filled with love as he looked at his boyfriend, so grateful to have him in his life. Dinner was excellent, and then they went to the last stop of the night.

In the middle of a large clearing was a fountain, spraying beautiful patterns of water as it was illuminated by lights. Dream instantly recognized it as the place they had their first kiss. Techno left for a bit, then wheeled out a large cake. "Triple chocolate, just how you like it. I know we won't eat this entire cake, but it seemed romantic on my head, okay."

Dream forgave him, especially because he did find it romantic. Once they had finished their cake, Techno grasped Dream's hands, forcing himself to look directly into his eyes, a bit nervous when Dream's cool green eyes looked back so earnestly. Sighing to regain his confidence, he started the speech he had been writing for way too long.

"Dream Taken, this past year has been the most wonderful year of my life. You have given me so many new experiences, helped me open up to meet new people, and been there by my side when I was at my lowest. I couldn't ask for a more amazing person to be my boyfriend for the past year, and I can only hope that I mean as much to you as you mean to me. I love you so much." And with that, Techno brought Dream into a kiss, and it felt like fireworks were going off around them. They stood there kissing for a while, soaking up the romantic atmosphere.
They broke away eventually, still looking at each other with love struck gazes. "Well after this, you can do whatever you want, so lead the way." Techno said.

"Is your place on the table?"

"Oh, I was hoping you'd pick that one!" He giggled as they walked back to the car.

They spent the evening cuddling and smooching on the couch while watching mildly interesting television programs. Techno's stress was over, and he was able to simply enjoy the moments. To Dream, this day would go down as one of the best in his life.
