At the sight of the two walking down the road to the villiage, a farmer couldn't help but squeal in excitement, running down the path to alert the others. When they finally arrived, Dream was met with a surprise gathering, led by his two best friends, who were currently squeezing the breath out of his lungs.

"I missed you so much!" Sapnap cried.

"You're alive, you're really alive!" George murmured, face deep in Dream's cloak. Dream hugged back, tenderly embracing the people he hadn't seen in years.

"Who's this?" Asked Sapnap, having finally noticed his companion from over Dream's shoulder.

"Ah, his name is Technoblade, we met down in the Antarctic."

"Hello." Awkwardly greeted the man dressed in pink and red.

"So what happened? Tell us everything!" George asked, looking up at him in wonderment. Dream smirked.

They had moved to the local bar, Dream, Techno, George, and Sapnap seated the center with the rest of the village crowded around them. As he loudly told the tales of his adventure, adding flourishes and dramatic touches wherever he could, he could hear the gasps and mutters of the crowd. When he got to the story of his time in Antarctic, he stole a few glances down at Techno, who was looking up at him amused. Through the rest of his account, there were more glances at key moments, a few spurring on chuckles or eye rolls from his companion. The citizens of the town left the bar with stars in their eyes, ready to recount the stories to those who couldn't make it.

Because Dream had left when he turned 18, he didn't have a house in his hometown, so he rented a room at the inn, where the four of them wound down after the exhausting day. "It's so nice to see you guys again." Dream mused, laying perpendicularly on the bed.

George turned and smiled at him, reaffirming the sentiment. Sapnap, however, had his eyes on Techno, who was relaxing on a chair and trying to get used to the strangers. "Aren't you going to tell us?" He asked, startling the others.

"Tell you what?" Dream laughed.

"What's going in between you two."

At this, both Dream and Techno's faces flushed red as they froze, minds equally racing. "I have no idea what you're talking about." Said Dream, trying to brush it off.

George, now in the loop, glared with a smile at Dream. "Don't tell me you haven't confessed yet."

Dream's face got even redder, but Techno quietly murmured, "He has."

"I knew it! It was so obvious!" Sapnap exclaimed. "I should've bet you, George, you didn't believe in me."

"We both know Dream is a naturally affectionate person, don't make me look like an idiot." George argued back.

"What gave it away?" Dream asked, slowly getting over his embarrassment.

"Just the way you two kept looking at each other with those soft eyes." Sapnap explained.

"That and the fact that you only booked one room." Added George.

Defending himself, Dream interjected. "Come on, we've been sleeping under the same tent long before we got together."

"And if it was platonic, you both would've openly welcomed a change."

They continued their playful argument, even bringing Techno into the conversation every so often. Dream thrived in the nostalgic comfort of his friends, and Techno gradually got used to them as well, not nearly as uncomfortable as he was when he entered the town. "Well, it's getting late, we should probably get going." George commented, looking at the sinking sun outside.

As they all stood up, Dream brought his friends into a hug. "Happy to see you again, make sure to stop by tomorrow."

Sapnap withdrew from the hug and headed out the door. "Of course we will. Techno, try not to get distracted by the chance to finally feel up Dream's hot, naked body." He teased, a sultry expression on his face.

At the teasing, Techno's face reddened once again. "We've been dating for like, two weeks."

"Actually, he already has, no need to worry about him getting distracted." Dream smirked.

"That was a survival situation and we both know it! We didn't even like each other back then!" Techno shouted, remembering that night.

"Don't act like you didn't think I was hot."

"You weren't hot, you were freezing. We were both freezing." Lamented Techno, slowly getting irritated.

Dream devolved into ferocious wheezing while Techno rolled his eyes, angry at himself for taking the bait. George and Sapnap were only chuckling in the doorway, both thinking about how much the two were acting like a married couple despite how recently they got together. Once the laughter died down they said goodbye and headed outside, leaving Dream and Techno in their room.

"Finally, I was getting sick of people. It's nice to be alone again." Bemoaned Techno, flopping on the bed next to Dream, making their shoulders press together.

"Didn't know you hated me that much, wow."

"Alone with you." Techno emphasized, receiving a light chuckle.

After a moment of thought, Dream asked, "You said earlier that you didn't like me yet during the snowstorm, right?"

"Yeah, I barely knew you back then, I'm not a love at first sight kinda person."

"So when did you fall in love?"

"Want me to be completely honest?" Dream nodded. "After the Monday tournament at Dramalert when you got so pissed you went on a violent rampage and almost murdered the king." Remembering the incident made Dream burst out in laughter. "I almost didn't hold you back because of how love struck I was." Techno chuckled, happily looking back.

They laughed for a while, but it eventually faded. "For me, it was when we were walking through that big flower field East of Mianite. The rising sun on your face, the way your hair flowed gently in the wind, I just couldn't help myself."

Techno smiled at the tender, romantic nature of his boyfriend, one of the many things he liked about him, while thinking back to that part of their journey. "Hah, you simped for me first." He joked, getting a light shove in return.

They chatted on the bed until late at night, never sick of each other's company, even after all this time. After getting under the covers, enjoying being in a real bed, they shared a sweet goodnight kiss, staring lovingly into each other's eyes before falling asleep. Neither of them knew what the future would hold, how long they would stay, what adventures they would go on, but the one thing they knew was that whatever they did, they would do it together.

{This entire thing was written for one joke.}
