Maybe. Just maybe so someone can sleep in the same bed as me...so I don't feel alone again.

++++

Once my back hits the bed my body begins to ache. The soft bed too soft if that makes sense.

I touch my bandaged arm. It feels as if my t-shirt is suffocating me, I throw it to the side.

My phone starts to ding, multiple times in a few seconds. Most likely messages from earlier. I know I shouldn't read through these but I want to.

Bill

B: I'm on the way to your house.
B: Talk to me. Are you okay?
B: I didn't expect you to yell.
B: I know you'll be seeing these later.
B: I'm locked outside of my house. I don't know what to do.

S: did you ever get back into your house?

He immediately calls me.

Bill

B: Thank god.
B: Stan? You there?...Stan?

S: What?
I say softly

B: God...I'm glad to hear your voice...Richie wouldn't let me inside...maybe I sneak through your window?

S: I'm tired...I'm going to bed.

B: Stay on the phone with me...I wanna hear your voice...Is...Is your arm okay?

S: Yeah I guess so.

B: Are you okay?"

I stay silent.

B: Stan? You still there?

S: Did you ever get back into your house?

B: Yeah...had to go through the window...
he chuckles.

S: I'm going to bed.

B: Please? Just stay up for a few minutes longer...

S: No...

B: Stan...I'm home alone. I don't wanna be alone.

S: I can't help

B: you did the other times.

S: You remember?

B: Vaguely... could you just come over? Sleep in a different roo-

I hang up. As soon as I turn my lamp off I fall asleep quickly.

Stan 🤍

B: Vaguely... could you just come over? Sleep in a different roo-

He hangs up... I throw my phone against the wall. I sit curled up on my bed, my hands going through my wet strands of hair.

"Fuck fuck fuck. I-I don't wanna b-be alone again... f-fuck." I feel my thumbs run over the cracked screen searching for a number. Only to find that I deleted it off of my phone.

Connor...why would I need his number again?

Maybe. Just maybe so someone can sleep in the same bed as me...so I don't feel alone again.
