I jumped out of my sheets and looked around my room My room...it was all a dream... "That was different" I whispered to myself Not my normal nightmare, this one actually felt normal I giggled a little to myself, how normal it felt to fear beginning school and being sorted into the wrong house
"Are you ok?" Fred asked sleepily Even though his eyes were awake it didn't seem like the rest of him was. I'm sure he doesn't get much sleep being near me, anytime I move or wake up in sweats he gets up with me
I nodded "yeah I dreamt of being sorted into slytherin"
He tried to keep his face neutral but I knew he wanted to laugh His cheeks kept fighting a battle against his smirk "You won't be placed there" he placed his hand on my hand and soothingly rubbed it
"But I have family members who were" I said watching his thumb make circles on my palm It was as if his finger was tracing the distinct lines formed there
He looked at me in the way that makes my stomach twist up "I knew it" He said oddly
I stared at him, my eyebrows scrunched up "What?"
"I never noticed growing up, but it's as if your eyes change color? Actually I don't know" he got up and got closer to my face "they were blue but now they're brown hmmm" At this point he was inches from my face, his own eyes reminded me of fire cracking. They have this intensity, that only glow when we're together "but just because you have distant members of your family in that house doesn't mean you'll get placed there. It's about who you are, and you aren't Slytherin. The only one in the family who almost got placed there was Percy and well you're the furthest thing from him" he stretched out his limbs, backing off quiet a bit "We should get going mum already knocked on the door half an hour ago to wake us. For obvious reasons she let us be when I told her you were sleeping"
For obvious reasons Because I can't ever sleep is what he means
It was the next day, and we were on the train to go to Hogwarts Fred walked with me to the train, but he didn't hold my hand like usual I know it's because his girlfriend gets on this department too and even though I'm far from competition for her I'm sure he doesn't want her to think anything of it His first girlfriend I watched as he hugged his mom and walked with George to her and Lee Jordan who's been over a few times since school began for them She's pretty I guess Ron took my hand after Fred left, Mrs.Weasley told us to stick together and watch out for one another
I walked with Ron to an empty compartment at the front of the train where new students went The train had different compartments for each house, not that you couldn't go and mingle with others it just seemed easier for us to be separated I watched as the train moved through forest dense and sparse We entered caves, drove up mountains covered in snow, and above water with creatures jumping to catch low flying birds
