It's been a couple of weeks since my tryouts. I have been keeping myself active and in shape over the summer just for the chance at quidditch this year, but I can't believe how much of a workout it really is. We've had practices almost daily, and with running on top of that I am in a constant state of sore.

It was 5:30 am, time for my morning run. I looked out my window before I headed down, the grounds always look at peace when I get up this early. I looked at Hagrid's hut and his light was on, which was typical at this hour. I always felt safe running early, knowing Hagrid is around.

I walked down the stairs, and to my surprise someone was also awake.
No one ever is this early

I got to the bottom of the steps, and Seamus turned to face me

"Hey Electra ready for a run?" He said stretching his legs

"Uh yeah I'm surprised you're up?" I said putting my hand on my hip

"I need to get in shape, so I figured I'd join you"

"Don't slow me down, my pace is pretty quick"

"If I slow you down feel free to leave me behind I'll learn eventually"

I really don't care for a running partner, this is my time to be alone. Running helps me clear my head, and forget about my issues. My plan now is to run as fast as I can, and maybe he won't want to run with me again.

We headed through the corridors and out to the lake. This is usually where my run begins and ends, I do my 5 miles around it.

We stretch first, and then I turned to look at Seamus who had the biggest smile on his face, kind of makes me feel bad for what's about to happen.

"Okay are you ready? It's about to turn 6, once we hear the birds from the forest chirp we run"

"Do they chirp at 6am always?"

  "They never miss it"

As I said that, the birds began their morning song, and I ran right off. Seamus kept speed with me, for about a 1/4 of a mile. I would wait for him, if my goal wasn't to be alone.

I hit 2 miles and noticed Seamus wasn't anywhere near me. He told me I could leave him behind so I didn't feel bad, he knew what he was getting into.

4 miles, 1 mile left. The sun was starting to rise, and the air was starting to get warmer. It was September, but the sun brings warmth to this area. As I ran, I looked into the forest and saw Hagrid tending to his creatures for his class that day. I waved at him and he waved happily back.

4.8 miles, almost done for the day. My legs were extremely sore from quidditch practice yesterday and running today, but I need to get stronger so I can prove myself to everyone. I will hold up to my standards.
