I looked down at my phone. I had a message from Gigi saying the date for my case has been moved and I had to be in Miami by tomorrow night. I sighed and placed my phone back in my pocket. Lani was doing her ab lips to her part of this song Robyn wrote called Locked up. It has the dopest beat. She took some stuff from Erkyah Badus bag lady and mixed it together. I have to admit this studio shit is fun. But I will never let Robyn know. I think she already does tho.
"Okay. Imma do some play backs so we can hear da two tracks we just covered," she said in her thick accent.
I nodded my head as I made my way out of the booth. I was about to make my way over to Robyn as my phone rang. I groaned and looked at it.
"What Gigi?" I groaned and answered my phone as I walked out.
"Don't what me, try it again," she said.
I was irritated. I'm tired. That cold wore my ass out. Then I wore Robyn's ass out. Now I'm tired. I just wanna smoke some more and take my ass to my room. Ontop of that I had to go and help one of my clients out.
"Hello Gigi," I said.
"Hello Nova, Did you get my message?" She asked me.
"Yeah I did. I was busy when you sent it," I said.
"Yeah yeah. Just make sure you are ready to go. I know it's your vacation but you know we can't function on this case without you for too long," she said.
"I know. It's koo though y'all helping out in stacking this money tho," I said and chuckled.
"True," she said.
"How long did we say I was gonna be gone?" I asked her.
"A few days. But now it's looking like a week," she said.
"Or a month ," I said and laughed.
"Uh somewhere in that time frame," she said.
"Robyn is going to kick my ass," I said.
"Bring her with you," she said.
"I would if it wasn't such an important case. I would never have anything ready for court," I mumbled.
"True. But I'm sure Robyn will get you back on track," Gigi said.
I laughed. She would but I don't trust myself.
"Maybe. But let me call you back," I said.
"Alright. See you in Miami," she said.
We hung up and I walked back inside. I looked at Robyn as she laughed and talked to Lani and Melody. I furrowed my eyebrows. I had no idea when she got here. I shook my head and pulled the blunt I had from behind my ear and lit it up. I walked over to where Robyn was. I slowly inhaled.
"Let me sit down," I said as I exhaled.
She looked at me and stood up. I sat down and pulled her back onto my lap.
