As the month went on, all those who were participating were doing their own training in their ways. Each of the trains to develop their techniques and better control of their chakra. For Y/N, his training was the hardest, he has gone through yet with Zabuza training him and teaching him several swordsmanship skills, fighting skills, and water style jutsu. Needless to say, learning water style was a very hard challenge since he uses fire style. However, after several long days of training harsh yelling from Zabuza, and determination, he was finally able to use water style although to a rather low level. When it was roughly a week to the tournament, Kehira took over his training, as he taught him some techniques as well.
Along with training with the two of them, he also trained with Matatabi in his mind slowly controlling a bit more of her power. As he trained with her, Y/N slowly got a better understanding of how to use her power along with manipulating flames to take on different forms. Naruto did his own training with a shinobi named Jiraiya who was a rather unique one at that.
Naruto along with the other contenders were all gathered on the grounds where the next portion of the exams will be taking place.

The proctor Genma Shiranui explained the rules to them along with showing them the new roster after one of the participants had to withdraw. While they were gathered, Naruto noticed that both Sasuke and Y/N were not present.
Naruto: Umm question. What'll happen to those who aren't here?
Genma: If those who aren't here don't show up when their name is called, they'll be disqualified.
Naruto was shocked to hear this as he was worried about if the two of them were going to win. Karin was up in the bleachers sitting next to Sakura and Ino as she made friends with them rather quickly.
Karin: I wonder where he is right now.
Ino: Wouldn't you know since you know him better than us?
Karin: Honestly, he doesn't talk much to me either. Said as she sighs. It's like he hates me.
Sakura: You really think so? For some reason, I don't think he does.
Ino: As if Sakura. Hardly anyone of us knows what he does or even thinks. It's like he's just doesn't want to be around us or anything.
Karin stayed quiet as she was getting worried about Y/N not showing up. The first match for the final part was between Naruto and Neji. The other participants went to the stand section for them as the fight soon started between the two of them.
Meanwhile, Y/N was doing some meditation near the river calming his mind. As he did this, he sensed something coming from the arena which got his attention along with Matatabi.
Matatabi: Looks like Naruto is drawing on the power of the nine tails.
