Lily Evans knew that there was something wrong with Severus lately. That's until she figured it out. Although the Evans was smart for her age, she could never read Severus' emotions.
He was a boy that paints his skies black and grey. Though Lily noticed out of the blue how he's been acting around a certain Slytherin.
"You like her."
They were sitting at the library table where they were studying for an upcoming potions test the next hour. She noticed Severus staring at a certain Slytherin from afar.
There was Reyna De Martel sitting beside Sonia practicing transfiguration.
Severus stopped staring and hid his blush behind his sleeve, "I do not like her Lily."
"She's dating Regulus Black," Lily informed even though he already knew that piece of information that's been all the talk throughout the week. "I may not know him well, but if he's like Sirius━"
"He's not what he seems." Severus cuts off. "The Blacks are a bunch of pureblood supremacists."
Lily arched a brow and became defensive, "Sirius isn't any of those things."
"But Regulus is." Severus pointed out. Though Regulus never expressed his opinions towards muggle-borns or half-bloods, Snape knew all too well that the curly-haired boy had a strong dislike towards the group.
At this news, Lily frowned. If what Severus said was true then maybe she needed to talk to Sirius about his younger brother. Reyna was like a little sister just what Alice, Dorcas, and Marlene thought about her as well.
"That's a serious accusation Sev. I get that you fancy her, but Reyna's known him since they were kids!" Lily whisper yelled. "I'm going to talk to Sirius, cya later."
Before Severus could make out any words, Lily already left. A ripple of laughter filled the library coming from the two Slytherin best friends causing Madam Pince to kick them out.
He watched them walk by and Severus took in her appearance. Long golden locks flowed down her back. Hazel green orbs lit up each time she heard something Regulus said and laughed. Regulus' hand intertwined with hers and Severus' stomach dropped.
Why would he fancy someone that clearly didn't like him back anymore? That wouldn't stop him from being vocal about his dislike towards the couple.
Christmas rolled around and Reyna and Regulus expected to see their families. The two expected to see the Black family. Sirius was obviously not seen ( ━ most likely exchanging goodbyes to James, Remus, and Peter ).
However, she didn't expect to see Jasper standing there. Even Regulus was surprised to see the older boy.
Jasper sent his little sister a smirk but not in a friendly way. To be frank, Reyna and Andrea never got along with their older brother. The blonde liked to think he had a stick up his arse. Andrea would laugh and happily agree.
He was insane like Bellatrix and that scared Reyna. "Jasper," Reyna greeted her family before turning to Walburga and Orion. "Mr. and Mrs. Black."
"Reyna, good to see you," Jasper stated, his face remained indifferent though the smile present on his face made it known that it was fake. No doubt father sent him. The man sounded a bit annoyed, probably irritated that his little sister didn't greet him first.
The blue-eyed girl shot him a fake smile. Bastard.
"Jasper," Regulus nodded.
Walburga gave the girl a hug and Reyna had no choice but to accept it. Orion gave her an acknowledged look before scanning the crowd.
He narrowed his eyes at his brother. If Regulus wasn't in front of his mother he would've shrunk back.
"Where's your brother?"
The raven-haired woman's lips curled in a sneer. "I'm tired of waiting here while there are muggles crawling everywhere and I hate being here." she voiced her complaints.
Close by, the Potters and Sirius, specifically Euphemia wanted to bring out her wand towards the crazy woman.
Jasper's eyes narrowed at the eldest Black. The two shared loathing for one another.
"Bloody hell," Regulus muttered, earning a sigh from Reyna. "I want to get out of here already."
"Sirius Orion Black! Hurry up!" Walburga glared daggers at the Potter family and her son.
Sirius let out a frustrated groan and said goodbye. He sadly trudged over to them with his head down and sympathy washed over the Veela.
"I see your son is still hanging with the wrong sort," Jasper commented, earning a scoff from Reyna.
"Jasper please don't start too." Reyna pleaded. Jasper sighed exasperatedly before she sent Walburga and Orion a farewell. "Mother and father will be back for the summer. They wanted me to tell you this in person....also, you haven't contacted Andrea have you?" Jasper questioned aghast at his other sister he despised.
"No, she hasn't Jas. I would've told you." Reyna lied and sent him another charming smile. Jasper grinned and patted his sister. Regulus resisted the urge to rip his hand off her head.
Sirius snorted at her words. "Jasper, how lovely to see you. Do you always have a stick up your arse."
Regulus bit his tongue to stop his laughter.
Reyna would've chortled right there and now, however, the glares coming from Walburga towards Sirius said differently.
The disappointment in Orion's words made Sirius's positive attitude disintegrate. Regulus was glad there wasn't going to be a feud.
"It was lovely to see you four," Jasper began, he purposely left out Sirius making Reyna angry. "I'll be going now,"
Once Jasper left, Walburga gestured for Regulus and Reyna to grab each hand. She shot her eldest son a glimpse of annoyance, "Orion will apparate you."
The dark-haired Black wasn't surprised in the slightest and shot his mother a loathing expression. His hand reached out for his father's and Orion gently grabbed his son's hand.
