27. Rise of the Great Whale

"It's my turn, Crow, and it'll be the one and only turn I'll need!" Greiger boasted as he drew a card. "Now, I summon Spell Reactor • RE to my field in Attack Mode!"

[LV 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 900]

"With that done, I can now activate the Speical Ability of Summon Reactor • SK! So, by sending him, Spell Reactor, and Trap Reactor to the Graveyard, I get to summon out my favorite monster!"

"Oh no..." Yusei said worriedly.

"Do I want to know what comes next?" Rai asked nervously.

"No, not really..." Yusei replied as the three monsters on Greiger's field all created a blinding flash of light. "It's the move that nearly defeated me back at the tournament..."

Greiger smirked just as the mark on his face lit up a bright violet color. "I'm glad you haven't forgotten how close you came to losing to my Flying Fortress SKY FIRE! Speaking of which, why not say hello to him once again, Yusei?" Greiger said as he placed the card on the field, his monsters disappearing from view, only for the new contender to materialize above the Dark Signer.

[LV 8 / ATK 3000 / DEF 2500]

"But rest assured, Yusei, because this time, it's Crow who won't be so lucky!" Greiger chuckled menacingly.

~Flying Fortress SKY FIRE is a level eight Machine-Type Monster with 3000 Attack Points and 2500 Defense Points~

"That's not a monster, that's World War 4!" Crow exclaimed.

"If you think he's scary now, then just you wait, because if I send a card to the Graveyard at the end of my turn, I get to destroy any one of the cards on your field!" Greiger boasted, causing Crow to growl a bit in annoyance. "And first up is your Silver Shield!"

Without even a glimmer of hesitation, Greiger's fighter plane fired its turrets, instantly taking out Crow's monster. "Urgh!" Crow growled.

"And now, for SKY FIRE's main attack, I target your Blackwing - Bora the Spear! Let's lock and load!" Greiger mocked as his beast fired off a set of rockets, blowing Crow's monster to smithereens.

"Urgh!" Crow grunted as he revved his engine, increasing his speed to try and outrun the incoming blast from behind him. "Silver Shield may be gone, but you can't stop its Special Ability from activating! As soon as he was destroyed, all the damage I would've taken this turn has now dropped down to zero!" Crow said as the spirit of his monster took on the incoming blast, eliminating it at the source before it could reach him.

This caused both Rai and Yusei to let out a sigh of relief. "That was close..." Said Rai, though it was under her breath.

"You're just prolonging your pain!" Greiger growled. "So, which one of your little birds is gonna swoop in and save you now then, hm?"

Crow frowned. Honestly, I wish I knew that myself... That SKY FIRE of his looks damn near unstoppable. Not only does its Special Ability destroy any one of my cards, but if I take one direct hit from that metal monstrosity, it'll be bye-bye blackbird. If I wanna win this, I'll have to think up something, and fast, which means it all comes down to this draw...

"Here we go!" Crow said as he quickly drew a card, glancing over to see what it was.

Another Blackwing... Not exaxtly what I was hoping for, but maybe my deck is trying to tell me something... Crow noted as he added the card to his hand. If I can't stop SKY FIRE's Speical Ability, maybe I can out-maneuver it somehow and just roll with the punches as they come. As much as I hate to lose a monster like this, it may be what saves my ass and keeps in this game a little longer!
