37. At the End of Sorrow

Huff... Huff... Huff...

I've gotta find him...! Where is he? Where is he?! I need to find Yusei before it's too late! I have to--

"Ugh!?" Rai suddenly gasped, forced to take a knee as she gripped onto her head when the world around had started spinning. "Wh-what...?! Why do I...feel so...dizzy?" Rai sat there for a moment, panting heavily as she tried to regain her bearings. As Rai sat there, trying to make the world around stop spinning, she clutched onto her chest, trying to bare with the stabbing pain in her side from sprinting so hard. After a couple of minutes remaining stationary though, Rai's vision had finally cleared, the world around her no longer spinning as the pain in her side had died down as well. With that sigh of relief, Rai immediately pounced to her feet and started running again with only one thought was on her mind...

Yusei... Yusei, please...! Just please, make it in time...! She silently prayed.

"Yusei!! Yusei, where are you!? Please, answer me!! Yusei!!" Rai called, but when she wasn't receiving an answer, her feet slowly came to a halt, the redhead panting once again. She stood there for a long moment, her heart sinking in her chest as Rai could feel those hot tears wanting to form in her eyes, only to quickly shake her head, rubbing her eyes before she could start crying. "No, stop it, Rai!" She scolded herself. "You can't...you can't start thinking like that! Come on, just take a breath and get your head back on straight..." Rai told herself, closing her eyes as she drew in a deep breath in an attempt to try and settle her nerves.

I'm not thinking clearly... I'm running around aimlessly, not knowing when I'm even supposed to be going... If I keep this up, then I'll never find--

"Help!!" A male voice abruptly called off in the distance.

"If anyone is out there, please!! Somebody help us!!" A feminine voice called right after.

Rai instantly perked up. "That sounds like Mina, and...Yusei!" She gasped. "I'm here! I'm coming!" Rai called back as she rushed over to the source of the voices. "Where are you!? I'm here! Please, I need to know where you ar--oof!" The redhead gasped again when she had abruptly bumped into someone, losing her balance as she landed flat on her ass. "Ouch...! That hurt..." She moaned in pain.

"Ah, geez! Sorry!" A voice frantically apologized.

"Huh?" Rai perked up, lifting her gaze, only to find Officer Trudge standing above her. "T...Trudge?"

"Yeah, uh, sorry 'bout that, Rai. I, uh, didn't see you, so--"

"Somebody, help us!" Mina called again.

"Ugh!?" The two gasped.

"Trudge, quick! I think Mina and Yusei are in trouble!" Rai exclaimed, scrambling to her feet again. "But...I don't know where they are!"

"Can anybody hear us!?" Yusei called out.

"Ugh! In there!" Trudge pointed to a small building used to control the old water slides. "Come on!" He urged, Rai nodding as the two rushed inside.

Slam!

"Mina! Yusei!" Rai called when her and Officer Trudge had busted in through the door.

"Where are you!?" Trudge called next.

"Trudge!" Yusei shouted, causing both Rai and Trudge to glance down underneath where they had been standing.

It was here that Rai's eyes suddenly widened, immediately dropping down to her knees. "Oh my God! Mina, Yusei!" She gasped.

"What the hell happened!?" Trudge exclaimed.
