23. Haphazard Fail-Safe Plan

Come on, where is she...?! I have to find Luna quickly! Rai clenched her fist. She's got be here somewhe--

"Ah--oof!" A voice suddenly gasped before they had run right into Rai, falling flat on their rear.

When Rai came to an abrupt halt, she glanced down at who had suddenly run into her, and just as her luck would have it, she found exactly who she was looking for, her eyes instantly lighting up. "Luna!" Rai smiled in relief.

"Huh?" Luna perked up, lifting her gaze to see the redhead herself, grinning. "Rai! Thank goodness I found you--err, well...I guess you found me instead, huh?" She chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck.

Rai sighed, grinning as she got down on one knee, extending her hand out to Luna. She smiled, taking Rai's hand as she helped the little girl back onto her feet, dusting herself off once she was up. "For some reason, I just got this really bad feeling that maybe you were in danger, and my instincts led me here." Rai said. "So, I should start by asking what the situation is right now."

"Well, from what Regulus told me, he said that Zeman, the Ape King was ready to make a move here in the Spirit World, and Torunka said that Zeman is connected to one of the Dark Signers who had sealed away the Ancient Fairy Dragon, but I'm not exactly sure how to help free her..."

"That might be why I was led back to the Spirit World..." Rai noted. "Come on, let's go meet up with Regulus and Torunka, then we can try and formulate some kind of plan to help free Ancient Fairy Dragon."

Luna gave a nod in agreement as Rai got back on her feet. "Alright." She said. "Come on, follow me. They're not too far from us."

Rai nodded. "Lead the way." She said, following Luna through the forest.

Before long, the two girls had finally reached a forest clearing, where Torunka and Regulus were patiently awaiting Luna's return, but perked up when they found Rai was accompanying her. "Luna! You've returned!" Torunka smiled. "And I see you've brought Ms. Rai with you as well."

"Luna gave me the basic rundown of what's going on, but is there anything else I need to know about while we have a chance to actually talk this over?" Rai asked.

"To my understanding, I believe that at this current moment, Luna's twin brother, Leo, is in battle with one of the Dark Signers -- Devack." Regulus spoke up.

"Wait, my brother's dueling a Dark Signer?!" Luna exclaimed. "What is he thinking?! He's not a Signer! My brother can't take on one of them by himself! We have to help him!"

"I understand how you feel, Luna, but before we can even think about the Dark Signers, we first need to deal with the problem regarding the Spirit World." Rai reasoned. "If we don't help out here first, then the real world is going to collapse as well."

Luna glanced up at Rai for a moment before sighing, knowing that she was right. "Yeah, I know... Sorry, it's just...my brother is very impulsive, and I know that those Dark Signers are really dangerous. I'm just afraid of what's going to happen to him before we get there..."

"Trust me, I know how you feel, especially since I've seen first-hand how dangerous those Dark Signers really are." Rae said. "For now though, we just have to trust that Leo can handle himself for a little while longer -- just until we can stop Zeman and free Ancient Fairy Dragon. And if push cones to shove, I'm sure Yusei will try to help your brother out too." Rai said before she turned to face Regulus and Torunka next. "Now then, what's the plan here? Does anyone have any sort of idea that we can work with to try and deal with this Zeman character?"

"Well..." Torunka spoke up shyly. "...we sorta came up with a plan, but I'm not entirely sure you'll find it very pleasant..."

Rai let out a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Oh boy... Here we go..."
