I'm sorry

Tryne rang the bell and the ladies came up, bringing our lunch together with a new set of drinks.

"You mentioned earlier that we first met at a party, when is that?" I asked before I got my hands on the spoon and forks.

"You really do have a bad memory, Missy." Mapang-asar siyang tumingin sa akin. I snorted at him. I am asking a sensible question here, I don’t have time for his mockery.

"You really do have a bad memory, Missy," I mocked. I don’t have time for his mockery but I have mine. He let go of his spoon to focus on me.

"That was six years ago." pagsisimula nya. "I don’t like parties but mom is always pursuing me to go, so..." he shrugged. His witch mother is really getting into my veins. "I was annoyed at first, but my annoyance vanished the moment that this girl caught my attention. Her small face was covered with a mask but still... she got my attention. And the moment she removed that mask I was astonished by her beauty."

Six years ago, I was only thirteen or fourteen. I was still in my teens back then and I don’t think falling in love at that moment was impossible. It was too early to love and to be wrecked by someone.

“I only talked to her once and I didn’t waste any single minute to make my move on her. She then asked what my name was but when it was my turn to ask hers, she dodged it and looked at me like a maniac.” He let out a sigh of disbelief.

That girl was just protecting her not-so-personal information, duh.

“Seriously though, almost everyone in this country knows what skl means but she didn’t even know what it was. She looks at me like a living alien on Earth. I can't believe her."

By that, my memories on that night gushed down like excited ticks.

So he’s TL. The one who loves acronyms. The one who made me think that I was a fool because I didn’t know what he was talking about and he was also the one who made me think of him and had sleepless nights.

"You'll found out my Missy. Wait for my chasings. I'm willing to chase you even if it inflicts heartaches."

I remember how his words affected my heart at that time. I even thought that I might just overdose on coffee or because of the wine that I’ve secretly drunk even though that was impossible. I don't like the way of me being in denial so I just think of him as a childhood crush that I don’t really remember.

"I now remember. You don’t need to remind me how naive I was to not know that acronym but where have you been after that night? I didn’t see you again."

"Yes, I left and been abroad for five years."

It's his mother's doing, of course.

"Is that the time that you met Ate Yhanna?"

"I've met her in London, we were on the same team that time, you know photography." He acted like he was taking a picture of me. "At dahil same age sila ni Ate at same age kami ni Yno na kapatid niya pala ay nagkasundo kami. Amir and I followed her to Paris. Doon na rin kami pansamantalang tumira katulad niya."

Tumango tango ako. I was hugging my knees for support para hindi ako mawalan ng balanse at mapahiga nang hatakin niya ako at isandig sa dibdib niya. I let myself be comfortable inside his arms. I now have full access to smell his luxury scent. He touches my hair and lets his hands play with it.

"You know, Yhanna is very talkative kaya pati ikaw naikwento na niya. She told me that Waige is pretty, she told me that Waige, Yno,  Xywon, and Zolen are dorks at bagay daw si Yno kay Waige, I didn't ask that! She even told me about your family and I'm sorry to hear that."
