The plan was self-explanatory, really.

Get to the front of the airship, hijack it, save Lady Fabool, and avoid the stupid mage and his dragon. What could go wrong?

Everything. You thought, crouching down behind the jagged piece of metal. The fourth one was easier said than done, but that was definitely not something you wanted to dwell on. The mage had taken a...liking to you. It made you cringe just thinking about the romantic gestures.

You instead focused on the task ahead. It had been too long since the Lady and you, her hand servant, had seen the ground. That stupid, no good sorcerous brat had taken the Hilda Garde I to use as his own personal ship and had also taken Lady Fabool and you as his personal captives. Not to mention, also using you as his own personal audience.

He spoke to Lady Fabool ONCE! You thought angrily. And every other stupid time, IT WAS ME! Frankly speaking, you couldn't decide which was worse, the imprisonment, his romantic advances or his outrageously egotistical speeches.

"The speeches. The speeches are so much worse." You growl quietly, stepping into the hallway. "Stupid narcissistic mage." The ship was strangely quiet except for the hum of the motor, a sign that you couldn't tell if it was good or bad. Glancing out the window, you saw the Mist rolling over the ground far below. "There's not much time."

You pad through the corridor, nearing the bridge of the ship. The quiet was getting to you. Something was wrong. Very, very wrong.

Pushing the growing feeling of unease into your throat, you place a hand on the cool metal. "We'll be out of his clutches, soon, Lady Fabool." You whisper, before flinging the door open.

A roar nearly blows you back into the hall, the shock of it knocking you over. You stand up quickly, rubbing your forehead, just in time to see the huge silver dragon growling into your face.

How did he get here? The creature roars again, swiping at your face, and you barely have enough time to roll out of the way. It instead hits the door, slamming it shut. You crash into the wall, your head knocking against the cold metal.

There was barely a second for you to react, before something twists your arms behind you. You squeal, before a gloved hand claps over your mouth, cutting you off.

"Going somewhere, my dear?" A voice purrs into your ear, causing a chill to run down your spine. You try your hardest to squirm out of his grasp, but he instead tightens his grip and drones on with a sarcastic tone. "I thought not. It was a very valiant escape attempt, I will give you that." He clicks his tongue condescendingly. "I could have gone without the jabs against my character, though."

Kuja. You want to slap the probably smirking mage in the face, but you settle for the next best thing, and bit his hand, tearing through the glove. He instead ignores that and hauls you to your feet, moving his hand to wave at Zorn and Thorn, who were cackling quietly at your misery. At his direction, the two jesters went to the controls and began to pilot the ship. You continue to struggle, to no avail.

"Hmm, someone's getting unruly." He notes, pushing you forward. "How odd. I thought you liked me."

Your brain was going a hundred miles a minute, trying to figure out how to escape, as Kuja forces you to the door to the outside of the ship. "Well, I suppose we'll have to fix that." He presses something and the door clicked open, blasting you with a powerful wind. "You said you wanted to escape, my dear. Correct?"

A thought enters your brain, a lone, fearful thought. You don't say anything, as the ship continues to fly through the sky. Kuja hums and taps his foot impatiently. "Answer the question, please."

You nod slowly, worry starting to bloom in your throat. He laughs again, and whips you around to face him, forcing you to look him dead in his blue eyes. "Good. What sort of lover would I be if I did not give that to you?"

That's when he pushes you, right off the edge of the ship. You scream, your entire life flashing before your eyes, as Kuja's form vanishes from your vision.

The Mist wreathes around you within seconds, obscuring your vision, as you try to curb your screaming. Who knows what would hear you, and breaking your neck on the ground would be a much quicker death then being a monster's dinner.

A roar echoes from above, and you panic even more, sure that something heard you. You notice the ground becoming visible through the Mist, and that's when it hit you that the end was near. Oh so very near.

That's when the roar became louder and something grabs you by the shirt. Your scream is choked out as the maw of the silver dragon stares down at you, holding you in one of its front claws. It shoots you a disappointed look, as it flings you forcefully onto its back, and takes off back through the Mist.

You cough, and suddenly vomit over the side, curling up into a terrified ball just as the dragon broke through the Mist. Everything that had just happened hits you hard, and you break down crying.

Something grasps you by the arms and tugs you forward, as you collapse into Kuja's lap. "I presume you've had enough of that, my dear?" He purrs, running his hands through your messy hair. "You sound like you have."

You don't even care for his patronizing tone at this point. All you wanted was to be deposited back at your cell on the ship, with Lady Fabool. That's all you wanted.

But as the dragon continues on, you look up to see the Hilda Garde I getting farther and farther away. You cock your head, confused. "Why-?" You try, your voice faltering. "Why aren't we going back?"

Kuja laughs yet again and taps you on the nose. "Ah. I see you've noticed our changing trajectory." He waves a hand with a flourish and points to the distance. "After your little 'escape attempt', I've decided to relieve you of your lowly position as a hand servant and take you back to my Desert Palace as a noble. As it should be."

All feeling leaves your body as he continues to drone on. "I can keep a better eye on you there. Not to mention, we will be able to spend more time together."

You feel a heavy force overcoming you, smothering your horror, as he continues moving his hands through your hair. "Sleep now. It's a long journey."

Lady Fabool, I- With that thought, everything goes black.

In which Kuja drops you from an airship.

Well, this is certainly out of the box for me. I don't usually write stuff like this. Not to mention, I probably butchered all that lore.

Anyway, FFIX is pretty cool, I like the characters (although I was convinced that Zidane was a cat boy for a while, heh), Kuja or Vivi are probably my favorites. The best FF villains have silver hair, don't they?

There's probably going to be a sequel to this sometime in the future. I'm going back to FFVII for another oneshot or two. Probably more Sephiroth.

Vote, comment, etc. Have a great day/night everyone!
