"And the Empire will be made GREAT again!"
You bit your lip, trying not to yawn. It was bad enough Aldercapt was making you take notes during his speech. Even worse, he had been talking for the past half hour.
A quick glance around the room confirmed your suspicions. Every general was bored to tears, and it was mostly obvious with Ravus picking at his sword and Glauca napping in his armor.
Not to mention the official who had sat down right next to you, and whose quite potent cologne was making the meeting all the more worse. You shot the Chancellor a look, noticing he looked as silently livid as everyone else.
Ardyn noticed you staring at him and gestured toward the Emperor with a silent glare that screamed "You are hearing this, correct?". You just nodded and went back to your notes.
Aldercapt didn't care about any of that, though. He was too invested in his new rant.
"With the power of the Lucian Crystal, I will lead Niflheim into a NEW era!"
You shifted on your leg, glancing down at your notes, which consisted of a doodle of a unicorn and some song lyrics you had heard earlier today. Well, that's disappointing. Emperor Aldercapt won't even remember asking me to take notes, so what's the point?
The Chancellor would probably tease me about my 'notes' but why should I care about what he says? With that, you waited for Aldercapt to finish speaking.
After another hour, he still wasn't done. Now you were incredibly tired, and the mood of the officials was worsening. Verstael looked like he was about to stab someone, and Ardyn was quietly tapping his boot, annoyed.
You couldn't hold back your yawn now, and you could feel your head get heavy. I really didn't get much sleep last night, huh? The thought of all the work piling up was making you both crabby and tired, as Aldercapt's endless ranting was delaying your job.
"We will DESTROY the Lucians and take their territory for ourselves!"
You gave up trying to stay awake, and closed your eyes, your head landing directly on Ardyn's shoulder. The Chancellor jumped and glanced frantically at you, looking like he was silently questioning if he should wake you up.
Aldercapt yelled something else, causing you to grunt and burrow up to the man in your sleep. Being asleep meant the meeting would go much faster for you.
It also meant you wouldn't get to see the Chancellor turn as red as his hair.
******
Just some dumb fluff thing I wrote while bored. Don't mind me.
Was planning to write a sequel to the Mi'qote and Sephiroth fic but that's dragging atm. Should be done hopefully soon.
Vote, comment, etc. Have a good day/night!
