(Modern AU because the names in XIV are a pain)

You did not want to wake up early. It had been awful the previous day, and you just wanted to sleep. Preferably for a nice long while.

I'm the Warrior of Light! I can sleep for how long as I like!

But rooming with certain people meant you were waking up anyway. You can hear your roommate humming as she makes her bed and finishes her morning routine, before she rips the blinds open. Sunlight spills into the room, and you hiss, covering your eyes.

"Come along, tired warrior." Y'shtola calls to you, crossing her arms. "You cannot rest forever."
You whine and cover your eyes. "Lemme sleep!" She laughs in response. "Y/n, you do not want to disappoint the others, do you?"

You glare at the Miqo'te, before crawling out of your bed, throwing on a jacket, and looking for food. "What are we doing today again?" Y'shtola follows you to the kitchen, watching you dig through the pantry. "We are going bowling with the Scions, the work fair. Did you forget?" She replied, amused.

"Yeah, yeah." You grumbled, pulling out your phone and scanning your messages. There were a couple from Alphinaud and Alisaie, one from Thancred...and about 40 missed texts from the same persom.

"By the CRYSTAL!" You slam your phome down, causing Y'shtola to jump. "I regret ever giving him my number!" The Miqo'te glances at you. "Was it Zenos again?" She asks apologetically.

You groan and nod, pocketing your phone. "He keeps texting me nonstop! I can't even go a minute without ten new ones!" Y'shtola signs and hands you a cup of water without even looking up.

This was a normal occurrence with you, the Warrior of Light. The Miqo'te was pretty sure that you were the prince's only friend, which strained everything even more.

You down the entire glass, before checking the clock and groaning. "Ugh, getting angry is gonna make us late. Give me a second."

With that, you pocketed your phone and walked back toward your closet.

Y'shtola glanced at your pout and sighed, pulling into a random parking lot. "Are you still thinking about those messages, y/n?" She asked, twitching her ears.

You grumble and nod, pressing your face against the glass. "What am I gonna do with that idiot, Y'shtola? I'm the Warrior of Light, I'm supposed to have the answers!" The Mi'qote smiled ever so slightly, and took your hand. "It should not be just on you to solve everything, y/n." She replied, exiting the car. "Come. I know how to make you feel better."

You clamber out of the car after to her to see a small coffeeshop. "Y'shtola, what about the work fair?" The Mi'qote smiled again. "The Scions will understand. We need quiet to help solve your problems." She called, already at the door.

Y'shtola ordered tea and you ordered coffee when the two of you arrived. It was relaxed and peaceful, and you finally calmed down somewhat. "Can I rant now?" You ask, dropping a ton of sugar into your coffee.

The Mi'qote sipped her drink and nodded, and you sighed. "I just wish Zenos wouldn't spam text me. It gets annoying! What should I do?" Y'shtola flicked her ears, and looked pointedly at you, and you sighed. "Oh, yeah. Just say that nicely. Yay."

Y'shtola giggled, and you smiled at her, your mood lightening up. "Thanks, Y'shtola, you're the best."

"Of course, y/n."

******
Y'shtola is a pretty lady.

Anyway, I have no coherent idea what this is.

Someone on Instagram referred to Zenos as a clingy ex, and I haven't been able to take him seriously since then. Actually, I've never been able to take him seriously, he's by far the most useless of main FF villains.

At least Fandaniel exists. FFXIV deserves one good villain.

Anyway, have some bowling. I had no plans or ideas for this, so that's why it's terrible. Kinda running on writer's block fumes atm, and the Sephiroth Dissidia sequel fic is going slowly. I'll get done with it sooner or later.

Vote, comment, etc. Have a good day/night everyone!
