"I'm sorry, I can't make this."

The blacksmith's words stun you a little. He's never refused to make a weapon before, what's the difference now? You look down at the materials you've gathered and then back at him.

"What's the reason?"' You tried, tapping your foot. He just shakes his head and crosses his arms. "There's something wrong with these items. I believe they are cursed." That's it, that was his reply.

I guess living next to a fortune teller can make anyone superstitious. You think sarcastically. "Well, what if I pay you one thousand more gil?" Your next offer echoes, as you really want, and frankly, really need this sword. Nothing was going to stop you from getting it.

The blacksmith blinks and falters a little. "Two thousand or no sale." He says, crossing his arms.

You roll your eyes and drop the gil, before walking away. What a cheapskate. The Amostran sun beats down lightly on your armor, making you sweat a little but not much. It feels nice and you relax slightly, although you're still a little mad about the sword.

"I murdered a Fenrir for those items." You mutter to no one in particular. "One of the strongest eidolons out there, and this is what I get in return!"

Before you can continue your one person rant, a siren blares, causing you to jump out of your stupor. "There's an eidolon on the loose!" Another Explorer shouts, rushing into Libertas and up to Cid, the head of your Explorer's guild. "We need someone on it, stat!"

You sigh. There goes my day off. "What's the situation?" You ask, walking up to the freaked out man and your boss. The younger Explorer, evidently recognizing you as the one who killed the wind wolf Fenrir, whips around and launches into an explanation. "It's Shiva! She's taken over all of Lake Tinze. Everything's frozen." He pants, completely out of breath. "Please, we need your help!"

Cid turns to you and crosses his arms. "I know you just came back from fighting Fenrir, but could you handle this?" He asks, sounding sheepish. "The rest of the Explorers are all out, and you're the only one here." You nod tiredly and Cid claps you on the back. "Thanks! Head to the airship when you're ready to go."

You nod again, and walk off to the bestiary at the far end of Libertas. If you're fighting another eidolon, you're gonna want your own monsters beside you. It's just common sense.

"Ready to get your monsters back, sweetie?" The clerk says, grinning. Her mood is a little infectious and you can't help but smile a little yourself. "Yep. Just my three if you please."

The clerk vanishes behind the gate and comes back with three beasts, all who get very excited upon seeing you. One is a lizard wielding a club who simply nods at you, the other is a cat-like coeurl who rubs against you when it sees you, the final is a helldiver, a bird with a long beak who lands on your shoulder and nearly makes you buckle over.

"Hi guys, Yes I missed you too." You whisper, stroking your monsters on the head. "We've gotta make one more stop and then we'll be on our way, okay?"

The three monsters excitedly trail you to the blacksmith, who looks up when he sees you. "Your weapon's ready." He says simply, before handing you the sword.

Actually, he tries to, because the katana is so large he can barely lift it. You rush to help him and can barely even sheathe the weapon across your back. "Why is it enormous?" You gasp, wobbling from the weapon's weight.

The blacksmith shrugs. "You wanted it." You roll your eyes again and change your tactics. "Okay, well have a nice day." Before you leave, he stops you.
