(Well I'm a day late but what can you do. I like sleeping)
*******
The Warrior of Light was dreaming again.
At least that was what you assumed. Ever since the battle at the First, and your victory over Emet-Selch, you had been haunted with bad dreams. Although this most recent dream was not your usual muddled cloud of nightmarish memories, watching those you care about be attacked.
This time, you were staring up into a dark sky, laying on what felt like solid earth. Upon looking up and around, you noted that it was rocky, dusty ground, with strange building-esque formations all around. It seemed to be some sort of observatory, at least to your very tired eyes.
This looks like the moon. You thought, standing up and stretching. Then you glanced toward the sky, and saw the planet far in the distance. Oh, this IS the moon! What am I doing on the MOON? AGAIN?
Your questions were not to be answered, however, as you heard voices coming from a decent while ahead. It sounded like an argument, and you were mildly intrigued to see who it was, considering this was the usually uninhabited moon. You fixed your armor and set off quietly in the direction of the louder voice. It sounded familiar, but you couldn't quite put your finger on it.
Then you reached a large rock, and peeked behind it, only to immediately rip your head backwards. That can't be right. Those two are dead. I know they are dead. I killed one of them myself and the other I defeated five times in a row. I must be seeing things.
You looked back over, and confirmed that, no, you were not going insane, and yes, that was Zenos Yae Galvus slashing rocks to shreds with a scythe and yes, that was Asashi sas Brutus wearing a red hood watching him do it. This is great. Just great. I'd rather be having a nightmare about the First than this. It had been the two of them arguing that you had heard, and you settled behind the rock, ready to overhear...whatever they were doing.
"Where are we and why are we here again?" Zenos muttered, slamming his frankly enormous scythe into the ground. You didn't fail to notice the very visible crack it left on impact, and you decided right then that being on the receiving end of the very sharp weapon was not in your prerogative. "And you would do best to give me a straight answer this time, Fandaniel."
Fandaniel? That's not his name...unless Asashi is dead for good and something's using his body. Your suspicions were confirmed as the hooded man yawned, waved a hand and shot some sort of red magic toward your hiding place, causing the stone to shift forward precariously. Yep, he definitely couldn't do THAT when we fought.
"This is the Mare Lumentorium, my lord." The other man sounded more patronzing than Emet-Selch did previously. "It was used for research in days gone past, but we are here for a different reason." You wondered if the former prince could hear the drivel. Knowing him, he probably cannot. He literally only hears what he wants to hear.
"You did NOT answer my question. Are you ever going to do that?" You cringed ever so slightly upon hearing Zenos's shrill complaining. I had forgotten how whiny he could get. You couldn't tell the hooded man's expression under his hood, but judging how he replied, he seemingly felt the same as you did. "We are UP HERE because we are waiting for the Final Days to commence." He did a little twirl. "And the Final Days cannot commence unless we awaken Zodiark in an ancient spot on this moon!"
"Is this the spot?" Zenos grumbled, dropping his scythe and crossing his arms.
There was a pause.
"No, my lord. I am afraid I do not know where the area is." Fandaniel replied, waving his hands. The prince muttered something else under his breath and slammed the area right beneath your rock with his scythe. The rock shifted forward, and you with it. "Ridiculous. I could be hunting down the Warrior of Light but instead I am sitting here on some ROCK, doing NOTHING!"
