(Okay so some stuff real quick. In this AU, JENOVA is basically a vampiric plague, and Sephiroth got infected, thus becoming a vampire. Cool? Cool.)

You drum your fingers on the metal wall of the truck and groan aloud.

You aren't a vampire killer.

You're a Turk, who was just in the right place at the right time.

Who maybe just threw a stake at the clone of the fanged creature threatening your boss, Rufus. Even worse, the vampire that had charged the attack, as well as killed the previous president, was still on the run.

Holed up in a town that it had burned itself. Nibelheim.

And now, it was your job to kill it. You take a deep breath and straighten your jacket, hopping out of the reinforced truck. It drives away as quickly as possible, and you sigh, dropping your two bags, one with weapons, the other with essentials.

Then you stare at the small town before you, its fake facades dully glowing in the setting sun. You sigh and pick your bags up, when something moves by you, cloth brushing by your bare arm.

"Welcome home." A deep voice whispers, and you jump about ten feet in the air, throughly spooked. But when you pause to look, no one is around.

You blink and head into town. The buildings are dead silent, and when you reach your new home, a small house on the north end of town at the top of a hill, you could feel your loneliness crushing you. "Thanks for the accommodations, Rufus." You grumble, sitting down on the floor and opening your first bag. The first thing you do is pick up a long wooden stake, which you fed into a harpoon gun.

That's when you feel a chill on your neck, and glance out the window, suddenly you noticing a figure watching you from the town. They were a hooded person who hid in the shadows of the buildings as the sun descended beneath the horizon. You leap up, focusing the gun.

The figure tilts their head, before lifting a pale hand and removing their hood, looking at you with a familiar face. You nearly dropped the gun in surprise. "Sephiroth?" You gasp to yourself.

Sephiroth, the infamous ex-SOLDIER and now the scourge of the land, stared back at you, before beckoning you forward with a gloved hand and twisted smirk. Not waiting for a response, he turned and vanished into the town, heading toward the mansion.

"He's goading me on." You think to yourself, bristling. No doubt the vampire wanted you to follow him into the empty town.

Probably to end up as his next meal.

"I'm not playing this game." You say aloud, whipping out two vials of glowing liquid and setting them on the visible windowsill. "Rufus gave me a job, and I'm going to fulfill it."

"Even though I'm a Turk with no experience with this whatsoever." And with that, you got to work, preparing the few weapons Shinra had given you.

Unbeknownst to you, the vampire watched your every move from his shadowy hiding place.

Two days pass by, an endless amount of preparation, of which you barely eat or sleep. You sigh and sit back down, looking at the aspen stake in front of you, the soft moonlight glinting off the wood.

"I'm not exactly sure if this can kill an ex-SOLDIER." You say aloud to no one in particular. "But, hey, let's give it a shot."

Padding out of the house, you walk down the hill, holding your harpoon in one hand and a normal gun in the other. Nibelheim was deathly silent, the lack of people or even animals making goosebumps cover your entire body.

Out of the corner of your eyes, you spot one of those aforementioned animals. A deer, with deathly white fur and two tiny holes in its neck. A bit of vomit builds up in your throat. "Animals too?" You whisper. "Why?"

"Am I not supposed to sustain myself?" A deep voice echoes from behind you, and you jump again.

HE'S RIGHT BEHIND ME. You question not turning around, but Sephiroth makes that decision for you, and grabs your arm, causing you to drop both of your weapons.

The vampire tilts your head up with a twisted smile, and you try to ignore the faintest hint of his sharp fangs. "So, Shinra acknowledges my mother and I's work, and as a reward, they send me a fragile little Turk." He mused, stroking your chin with a gloved hand. "What a shame."

You tried to hold back your fear, as Sephiroth scans over your weapons. "You're going to use those to kill me?" He asks, a smug simper evident in his voice. You nod slowly, looking around for an escape.

The vampire pauses for a second, thinking, and then releases your arm.  "You're an interesting mortal." He replies, shrugging lightly. "Let's make a deal." You stare at him suspiciously, but didn't move.

Sephiroth waves his hands. "A simple game of cat and mouse. Nothing more. If you can catch me before the sun rises, I'll let you stake me. If you cannot,-" His eyes glint for a second. "We will see what happens." You panic again, but with no other option, you nod slowly, reaching down to grab your harpoon.

But when you stand back up, the vampire was gone. "Where did he-" You stop, seeing a huge black bat with one feathered wing staring at you from the roof of a house. "Oh." The bat tilts its head and soars away, heading toward the mansion in the center of town. "If I'm the cat, he must want me to go after him."

You bolt after the monster, stopping inside the mansion, which was the only building that wasn't completely destroyed. "Where is he?" You mutter, grappling for the flashlight in your pocket and clicking it on.

That's when you notice the absolute state of the building. "Disgusting."

You pinch yourself on the arm, trying to remind yourself of your job. "Stay focused. I-" That's when you see the book laying on the ground, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Against your better judgment, you put down your harpoon, pick it up and flip through it.

"JENOVA. A vampiric entity, that feeds on the blood and lifeforce of the planet." You continue to scan through the deep book. "Sealed away by the Ancients, the vampiric germ was contained until Shinra brought the creature back, to test."

You continue to read until the faintest ray of sunlight catches your attention. A gasp escapes your throat as you drop the book, finally realizing Sephiroth's plan. "I'm not the cat. He is."

A noise echoes behind you, and you whip around to see the vampire standing to his feet. "Time's up." He whispers, stepping forward.

You bite back vomit in your throat as he steps forward. "Please don't kill me." You whimper quietly, hoping that he had some sort of pity in him.

Sephiroth cocks his head and smiles with a strange expression. "And why would I do that?" He murmurs, wrapping an arm around your back. You could feel the chill from his undead body shoot through. "You're a brave little creature. I've only met one other like you."

"What happened to you, Sephiroth?" You whisper. The vampire shrugs placidly. "You'll know soon enough. I will have my revenge."

He tilts your chin and suddenly kisses you, causing you to freeze. His grip tightens before releasing you.

"Run home, my little human." He purrs. "Before I drain your blood."

And just like that, the vampire's gone, replaced on by a singular feather. You blink, and pick up your harpoon, as the rising sun shines through the mansion.

"This may be harder than I thought." You mutter, rubbing your neck. "Much harder."

******

"Starting making it. Had a breakdown. Bon appetite."

Happy Valentine's Day. I don't know what this is, my brain went "hehe vampires", and then this happened.

Vincent would probably make a better vampire but I wanted to do Sephiroth.

Anyway, vote, comment, etc. I can't believe I'm posting this, and have a nice day/night!
