(That's a lot of Bs)
You sit in the middle of your floor, and sigh, sharpening yet another stake, as the evening sun slunk below the horizon. Rufus had called you earlier that day, asking for a report and you hadn't answered.
"This mission is going awfully." You mutter aloud, dropping the wood to the ground, and laying own your back against the cool floor. "I'm not a hunter-I'm a Turk. But I-"
The stake is still dull and you groan, going back to sharpening. "I need to complete it. For the safety of everyone."
You shudder, thinking about how the past weeks had transpired. "Not to mention, my own safety." It had only been two weeks since the vampire had...done that, and you hadn't seen him since, even when you patrolled the town every night.
On the other hand, plenty of his clones were around, which was the reason for the stakes.
"Who knows what's he planning." You mumble, standing up. "But, either way, time to get to work." You grab the stake and your harpoon gun, and set out.
The second you left your small house, everything began to tingle. "Something's up. There's no one around." You whisper, skidding into town. "The town should be covered in clones." The moon glimmers down on the eerie town, and you shudder.
That's when a scream echoes through the air and you jump, whipping around and running through the town. "What in the-" Your gasp dies in your throat, as you see the source of the noise. "Are those-?"
Two bats rip at each other directly in front of the Nibelheim mansion, and you jump behind a wall, watching horrified from a distance. The larger bat's very familiar feathered wing shines in the dim moonlight as it dodges another attack, letting loose another demonic screech.
It slams the second bat, a creature with red and gold wrapped around it, into the ground. Blood spurts up from the felled creature, and it squeals. A thousand thoughts run through your mind, but you only say one aloud. "Vampires don't bleed. So why...?"
Then it hits you, just as Sephiroth changes back and crushes the weakened bat beneath his heel. "Any last words, my friend?" He hisses.
"Yep." You snap, rushing out of your hiding spot. "Say your prayers." You fire the stake directly at the vampire, who nimbly attempts to dodge out of the way. However, the stake hits, slices directly through Sephiroth's cloak, and scrapes his leg, causing him to howl in pain. It pins him to the wall of the mansion, and he spits at you, unable to initially dislodge it.
You ignore his curses and screams of "TRAITOR!" and rush to the other bat, picking it up. Blood from its wounds stains your sleeves and shirt, and you shudder slightly, the iron stench clogging the air. "Let's get you some help." You whisper, rushing away from Sephiroth, who was just beginning to furiously dislodge the stake.
The second you run into your house, you slam the door shut, click some lights on, lay the bat on your bed, and immediately start digging through your supplies, a dim glow shining through your window. "Where is it-there it is!" I gasp, tugging out your medical kit and turning around. "Now, about that..."
Your voice dies in your throat. The bat is gone, and instead there is now a deathly pale man with long brown hair laying on the bed, wearing a tattered red cloak and blood-splattered gold gauntlet. He's panting heavily, his wounds causing him evident pain.
You kneel down beside him, dragging your supplies with you, as the man opens his eyes weakly. "The vampire killer." He whispers, staring at you with a bloodred gaze. You sigh, grabbing some bandages. "That's me. What can I call you? The second vampire?"
He stares at your ceiling. "Vincent. The half breed."
You stop short. "Wait-" Before you can finish, your door rattles suddenly, and the two of you freeze. You reach for another weapon and slowly edge up to the door.
"I know you're in there, my darling little human." Sephiroth's voice cuts through the air. "Give me back what's mine, and your death will be quick. Unless you prefer the second option."
He slams the door again. "By all means, take your time."
Vincent's breathing gets quicker, and the stench of fear gets much stronger. You almost begin panicking yourself, until you realize something. "You can't come in here." Your voice is shaking. "Unless I invite you in. All I have to do is wait until the sun rises fully."
A pause hangs in the air, until a low laugh cuts through the silence. "Well played my little human. You're learning." His voice drops, low enough that Vincent couldn't hear but you can. "Enjoy your time with your new little pet. What will your boss think?"
And then he's gone. You collapse to the ground and sigh, just as a ray of sunlight shines through the window. Vincent stares at it, before waving a hand. The curtain draws itself, and he slumps back down on the bed, the little exertion of strength he used enough to fell him.
You walk back over to the bed, and finish bandaging his wounds. "You're a half breed? How?" The question comes out of nowhere, and you immediately bite your tongue. Vincent stares at you in response.
"I was injected with the vampiric parasite many years ago by a scientist of Shinra." He replies, rubbing his arm. "The shame was so great I hid in relative peace. Until Sephiroth came."
A silence descends upon the room as you contemplate what he told you for a second. "Was this certain scientist Hojo?" You spit. "He requested me specifically to be sent on this mission. No doubt he's probably trying to kill me as well."
Vincent stays silent, before you break the quiet again. "Vincent? I have a question." He glances at you but says nothing.
You dig your hands into the floor. "Can you help me take down Sephiroth? I know we just met but I need some help. And I would appreciate it."
He glances at your ceiling, before back at you. "I'll aid you. But be warned. He is a much more powerful foe than what you may believe."

And now, part two in "FFVII but it's Castlevania". Vampires are fun.
What's coming next? Idk, more FFVII, maybe some stuff in IX with bandits, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
