"Cloud? Cloud! Earth to Cloud!...wow who would've guessed a guy this big could be such a heavy sleeper? Gotta change my tact-I know! CLOOOOUD!"
Cloud grunted and rubbed his head, opening his eyes to see someone staring down at him with big blue eyes and fluffy white wings. He yelled something and leapt up, grabbing his sword from behind him. The someone yelled too and jumped back. "Whoa! Didn't mean to scare you!" He called, rubbing the back of his head with a smile. "I just wanted to wake you up!"
Cloud didn't smile back. "You're...Pit, aren't you?" He snapped, still bracing his sword. The angel nodded quickly, but Cloud cut him off before he could say anything. "What do you want?"
Pit blinked, and pointed behind him. "Galeem's attacking." He said, smiling sheepishly. "Lady Palutena wanted me to come get every fighter I can!"
Cloud stared at him. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner?" He yelled, raising his hands in the air. "You wouldn't wake up!" Pit shouted back, crossing his arms. "Didn't you hear me trying?"
A boom echoed from far away, and Cloud glanced up, his face stricken. "Okay I-just-sorry, alright?" He tried, turning towards the sound. "I've had some bad experiences with angels before. Shouldn't have taken it out on you."
Pit smiled again and shrugged lightly. "You're good. We should probably get going now." He quipped, pointing at the rising fight.
Cloud grit his teeth and nodded as the duo rushed over rocks and past rotting bushes. "I've got a terrible feeling." He muttered, rubbing his arm. Pit nodded, as the two of them came to a stop near the mess. "I can agree with that." He added worriedly, his usual chipper attitude gone.
The fighters were battered and bruised as Galeem floated above them all, the many hands and glowing light shimmering in the sky. "Is it about to attack?" Cloud hissed, hand back on his sword. "I'd prefer not being disintegrated again."
Pit shrugged. "I can't tell." He stared at the huge beast. "But it's giving me some really bad vibes." As they watched, Galeem began to glow, faint tendrils of light shining out from it.
"Well, it sure looks like it's about to attack!" Cloud barked, the two of them preparing for a fight. "Get ready!" The monster glowed brightly for a second, light emanating from everything.
And then, it split into two.
Galeem screeched in a death cry, the two halves of the sphere falling to the ground in a blaze of light. The many hands around it began to disitnegrate and fade away as their master died.
"What is the name of Holy is going on?" Cloud snarled, stopping himself before he cursed in front of the teenage angel. Pit blinked, evidently not hearing Cloud's little outburst, and rubbed his eyes, squinting. "Hey, Cloud, do you see that?" He asked, pointing upwards at a tiny black speck behind what remained of the former light monster. "Is that what killed Galeem?"
Cloud glanced up at the speck and felt his heart stop. "I-it's him. He found me." He stuttered, backing away. Pit turned around. "Cloud, what's wrong?" He asked, worry in his voice. "Who's him?" A singular word echoed through the air in response.
"Sephiroth."
The rest of the fighters glanced back at Cloud. Fear was apparent on his face now, pure, unadulterated fear. "Cloud?" Pit tried, trying to grab the man's arm. "What's-"
"Oh, how I've waited for this moment." A calm, deep voice cut Pit off, and echoed through the air, causing a strange lull to fall over the battlefield. Everyone could hear him, and Pit glanced back at Cloud to see him geuinely shaking.
"Now I shall give you all despair." The sky grew dark with storms and smog brewing in the air, the air crackled with electricity, and an explosion came from the center of the fighters, where Galeem previosuly was. "He's here." Cloud whimpered.
A man appeared on the rocky ground, in a black cape, standing in the center of the fighters, wielding an impressively long sword. He glanced around at the fighters with a dead cold smirk, seemingly sizing them up.
Then he saw Cloud, and lunged, nailing the other man in the heart, which sent him flying. Pit gasped, and whipped around, watching Cloud crash into the ground in a poisition that definitely wasn't healthy. "Cloud!" He yelled, tearing after him. "Lady Palutena, heck even Dark Pit, help!"
Sephiroth watched the angel run, his cold smirk morphing into a maniacal grin, before turning to the rest of the fighters, all who were now rushing at him. "Pathetic." He purred in that cold voice, as a feathery, obsidian black wing sprouted from his back. "All of you." Then he whipped around and struck Mario in the heart.
Meanwhile, Pit rushed over to Cloud's side and shook him on the arm. "You okay?" He asked, fear and concern in his voice. Cloud grunted and stumbled up, coughing up a little bit of blood. "No." He groaned in response. "I am not okay, thanks for asking."
Pit sat down next to him, looking like he was trying to ignore the screams coming from far away. "Who was that guy?" He asked, sounding horrified. "I've never seen anyone so bloodthirsty!" Cloud opened his mouth to respond, but someone cut him off.
"That's Sephiroth. SOLDIER First Class." Palutena stepped forward, grace and beauty exuding from her. Dark Pit was behind her, looking as ticked off as ever. "They call him-The One Winged Angel." Cloud cut her off this time.
Palutena glanced at him and sighed, touching her staff to his forehead, healing him. "You've fought him before, right?" She asked, kneeling down. "Can you tell us his weaknesses?" Cloud shook his head. "He has no weaknesses. He's immortal."
"Real helpful, you nitwit." Dark Pit muttered, flipping his bow in the air. "And how is he an angel? What sort of twisted freak abomination has only one wing?" Palutena stood up, and helped Cloud to his feet. "He's part alien." Cloud muttered, crossing his arms. "I can't beat him again. I only did it the first times with the help of others."
Palutena spread her arms. "The angels will aid you, but you must strike him down yourself." She called, a blue light spreading across her arm, which she touched to Cloud's sword. Pit nodded excitedly, and Dark Pit rolled his eyes. "I know you can do it. She, the girl who died, knows you can do it."
Cloud lifted the weapon up and nodded. "Alright." He turned back toward the bloody fight happening a ways away. "How did he get here?" Palutena shrugged. "The thirst for battle with you clearly called to him. You either sate his thirst, or he will destroy us all."
Pit pointed at the flashing lights and sounds with his wing. "Let's go. We don't have much time." He called. "Lady Palutena?" The goddess nodded and waved a hand, and the two angels' wings glowed. Dark Pit grit his teeth. "Let's go show this imposter who the real angels are."

I had multiple other oneshots planned for number 10.
Then Sephiroth got into Smash.
Funny story: I was chatting with someone a few months ago after the Steve reveal, and we mentioned characters we wanted in Smash. I said "Sephiroth" and we both agreed that while it would never happen, it would be freaking awesome.
Imagine what went through my head when I heard One Winged Angel start in that trailer. I still can't believe it, the one character I wanted in Smash, the one I never thought would show up, got into Smash.
What a day. Did you guys see the reveal, and if you did what did you think? I want to know, because I started hyperventilating.
Vote, comment, scream over Sephiroth with me, or whatever, Have a nice day/night everyone!
