Talking With the Ones You Love: FFIX

Zidane kicked his feet against the ground and hummed to himself, waving his tail. He wasn't really thinking about anything but at the same time he was thinking about everything.

"What's with that look?" A voice said behind him, and Dagger sat down beside him, crossing her arms. Zidane smiled and shrugged. "Oh you know. Things." He replied, forcing a cheery attitude.

Dagger stared at him. "You're lying, aren't you?" Zidane went silent and nodded sullenly.

"It's just-" He started, and picked up his weapon. "Everything with the Queen, Kuja, the rest! I can barely do anything and I don't even know who I am!" He groaned aloud and buried his head into his hands. "I'm going to fail everyone-"

"Hey-" Dagger cut Zidane's depressing tirade off and grabbed his arm, causing him to glance at her. "You haven't failed anyone. In fact, you brought us all together, Zidane. You're the reason we're here." She gave him a tight hug, causing Zidane to blush ever so slightly.

"And you know what? I know who you are." The girl continued. "You're a sweet, wonderful person who'd do anything for those he cares about, not to mention my friend. That's something you can count on."

Zidane smiled. "Thanks, Dagger." He whispered. The two of them stayed in that hug for a while, happy to be in each other's company.

A ways away, Vivi stood up, looking for Zidane, when he noticed the two embracing.

The mage tapped Freya on the arm and pointed at the duo, and the Burmecian smiled.

Sad Zidane is something I don't like, but Garnet and Zidane being fluffy is something I very much like, so here's a drabble about it. I hope this isn't OOC.
