Chapter - 34 See you later?

Jannat's POV: I was on the bed looking down at the trophy that I was holding in my hands. I was awarded first place in the competition. Which was very surprising to be honest, cuz I loved the creepy dude's performance. Man, I really need to learn his name. But anyway, Siddharth later told me that he was a senior, and was just performing on demand. As in, he wasn't really in the competition. I was happy about the fact that I came first but I was happier about the fact that I had conquered my fear. I could see only my dad's face when I was up there on stage, receiving the award. Dude, is it normal if I see glimpses of my dad in Siddharth? Forget that I just said this. But he cares for me so much... why? One of the questions that will be left unanswered as long as I'll live. The next day, we saw Anushka slaying her dance routine along with her team "vibetastic" up there on stage. They won the competition obviously. Siddharth didn't take part in anything. Idiot. He'll push me to do something I really don't wanna do but he won't do anything when it comes to him. When will he learn, I have no idea. 

The next morning,

Anushka: Yaar, I'm bunking this lecture. I don't wanna attend.

Sidd: Bey hum kahin ghumke aate hain chal

Jannat: Main nahin aa rahi, tum dono jao

Anushka: Jaanu yaar, why you so boring in life

Jannat(scoffs): Excuse me? I'm not boring

Sidd: You are

Jannat: I just like studying, what's the big deal

Anushka: The big deal is that you don't have fun

Jannat: I have fun ok shut up now 

They were about to retort but Anushka's phone rang. It was a call from Riyaz. She said yes once and cut the call. And then she beamed bright.

Anushka(smirks): Alright babies, looks like I have to go to class now. Riyaz wants me there 

Sidd: Haan haan jab marzi baazi palat le tu 

Jannat(laughs): Fine, go 

She left the place grabbing her bag in a hurry. Siddharth looked at me with puppy dog eyes. He obviously wanted to waste time. Ugh this guy. Before he said anything, I barked at him, "NO, I've a class starting in 10 minutes, I need to go". 

Sidd: Arrey you can attend tomorrow yaar

Jannat: You go roam around with someone else. Haan go roam with your boy gang. 

Sidd: They are busy with the cultural fest thing

Jannat: Go with Reem or Avneet then

Sidd(after thinking for a while): Yeah that works 

He hugged me from the side and left before I could hit him. I didn't realise that that stupid statement was going to change the next few days of my life. How? He started spending most of his time with Avneet and Reem. And I was okay with it. (That's a horrible lie, but okay, bear with me). Anushka one random day came up to me and said, "I don't even know where Siddharth is nowadays. What does he want me to do? Put a tracker on his phone?". I didn't have the answer to her complain. 

Anushka: Oh my God, is he doing this only to me?

Jannat: Huh?

Anushka: Do you hang out with him nowadays?

Jannat: I don't remember the last time I actually hung out with him. Bro what are you complaining about? You both legit have the same schedule. 

Anushka: I know, but he doesn't sit with me. 

Jannat: Bhaav kha raha hai bandha

Anushka: I saw him yesterday but I couldn't go talk to him

Jannat: You won't believe it, he literally comes to my room everyday to get Reem. REEM! Are you serious? And whenever he comes, I'm either sleeping or I'm not in the room. 

Anushka: And I have the same story, except he comes to get Avneet instead. 

Are you seeing this? He is so annoying. He makes it difficult to live with him, and even more difficult to live without him. And it's not like we never made efforts to go talk to him. We did. But all in vain. The conversation wouldn't last longer than a hi, how are you, what are you going to do now, okay I would love to stay and talk, but I need to get going, bye, see you later. HIS "LATER" NEVER COMES. Anushka and I started hanging out with Riyaz a bit more cuz Anushka obviously wanted to spend more time with him, and I had to third wheel sometimes. I appreciated the fact that they didn't want to leave me alone though. Anushka sometimes complained that she missed bickering with him. I didn't miss bickering with him, I missed him. Wow, some relationships can change so quickly.
