Anushka's POV: After I hung up on the call with Jaanu, I decided to go to Siddharth's room to get my notes back. I really needed them at this point. I walked down the main campus area and reached the boys' dorm. I obviously knew Siddharth's room and after letting the guard know that I had to get my notes he told me that I didn't need keys since the room was open. Um, what did he mean the room was open? I found out soon after. I opened the door silently to see a super messy bed in front of me and another one on my right. But someone was laying down on the bed with their phone in their hands. Who? Riyaz. Oh God, how the heck did I not see this coming? I knew that he was Siddharth's roommate but I had absolutely no idea how I didn't think this through. I went in and closed the door just to look Riyaz in the eyes. He looked up at me and smiled.
Riyaz: Hey, what's up?
I tried to be as non chalant about it as I could. But I'll have you know that it wasn't easy at all.
Anushka: Um, hi. I came here to get my notes from Sidd but he's playing basketball so he told me to come here and check for myself.
Riyaz(sits up): Oh, I thought you wanted to see me. Well, either way, I need to talk to you
Anushka: Um, okay, I guess. What's up?
Honestly, I wanted to run away from there after making some lame excuse but that would make me such a sloppy friend.
Riyaz(points to a chair beside his bed): Sit down, its gonna take a while I guess
Anushka: Okay.
Riyaz: Right so you've been acting really weird around me. I mean, we used to hang out together so much before but now we don't even see each other that much. Do you wanna tell me what's going on?
Anushka: Oh, um, I guess I'm just a bit too busy
Riyaz: Well, busy or not, you have always been one of my closest friends, or maybe like my best friend or something and I wanted to tell you this. I have feelings for Zahira. And I have no idea how to approach her or take action on this.
Dude, did he just friendzone me crystal clear? Okay, its Nigeria falls time, eyes! Goodness I need to get outta this place. Wait, what if I tell him about my feelings now? That won't be right, right? I was in a dilemma when the door flew open. Siddharth walked in and plopped down on his bed and then turned to look at me.
Sidd: Riyaz, what are you doing?
Riyaz: What does it look like I'm doing? I'm talking to her, uh, hello?!
Siddharth then came over to us and sat down on Riyaz's bed right beside me.
Sidd(whispers to Anushka): Are you okay?
Anushka(nods in a no).
Anushka tells him everything that happened and breaks down in front of Riyaz itself. Siddharth glared at Riyaz while Riyaz on the other hand, looked absolutely clueless.
Sidd: Hey, you know what? I guess its time to talk about your feelings Anushka.
I reluctantly shook my head but he told Riyaz everything anyway.
Sidd: Riyaz, I think its time you know about this. Anushka has feelings for you.
Riyaz(blank): Whoa what? For real?
Anushka(nods): I'm sorry to dump this on you
