Jannat's POV: Approximately 4 years into my college life, and I had fallen in love. With whom? With the only guy who was capable of taking care of me like a dad. Siddharth. I don't know how it happened, I don't know when it happened, I don't know why it happened. I just know that it happened. I had fallen in love with a guy who was crazy famous among girls for his attractive features. I had a couple of theories behind the question of how I fell for him. Like I said, I'm an overthinker. So firstly, if you're still questioning me why I liked him even after you've seen him, then you're stupid. The most beautiful eyes, the best smile, a legit sharp jawline...should I go on or does that answer your question? Good. The second theory is somewhat more serious. I started being very subtle in how much time I spent with him, it was just an attempt to maintain my distance from him. The more I stayed away from him, the more I started observing him. And his antics. And I developed feelings. He would just stand there saying something funny (and stupid) to his guy friends and start laughing at his own jokes. The way he would groan and whine anytime he got to know that there was a test the next day. The way he bickered with Anushka and hit her on the head when he had no more valid points to prove himself in an argument. The way he talked to his mom on facetime with a huge smile plastered on his face. The way he would play basketball with me and come within spitting distance of me. The way he would flirt with idiotic play girls and try to act all cool and smooth. The way he would ruffle my hair everytime he wanted to mock me. The way he cared for me more than himself. The way he would call me weird names. The way his eyes sparkled before planning to bunk a class. The way he abused his opponent while playing a video game. The way he would catch me stealing a glance at him and raise his eyebrows while asking me what was up. The way he flipped his hair without making even tiny efforts to look damn. The way he grinned when he got nervous. The way he laughed to the fullest whenever he spent time with me and Jaanu. The way he remained the happy-go-lucky guy that I knew for so many years. The way he looked at me. The way he held my hand whenever he felt like it. The way he said "she is mine" whenever Kritika annoyed me. And most importantly, his heart. As you can see, I spent time with him yes, but it wasn't the same anymore. He would spend time with everyone equally, which I very well appreciated. You know the weirdest thing? I have seen and heard so many stories where either the guy or the girl falls for their best friend and they try running away from that fact. But I didn't. Sure, it took me a while to realise that I had feelings for this guy, but I accepted it. And embraced it.

I was genuinely happy that even if I fell for someone, it was him. Well, here's my feelings for him. Did he have feelings for me? I had no idea. And I was fine with that. I was happy crushing on him in silence. I didn't wanna take any action. I wanted to let everything be the way it was. Why do you think I was fine with him flirting with random chicks? Welcome to my world.
