Chapter - 11 Untold feelings

Siddharth's POV: I smiled at Anushka's disappearing figure as I began to trace back my steps to Jaan and Bhaiya. I reached the pathway but they were not in my sight. That's when I heard Jaan's voice. She had called out my name. So I turned to see her sitting on a bench alone. I walked up to her and asked where did my brother go. She replied saying that his friends had come up to call him and he was reluctant on leaving her alone and going but she forced him to go since I would be here soon. I told her the Anushka story and she started laughing. Damn, that laugh is the highlight of my low moments in life. She just needs to laugh like once in a day and it will echo in my ears for like the next two hours. And trust me, this is not a joke. 

Jannat: She is so cuteeeee

Sidd: Who?

Jannat: My Jaanu 

Sidd: Oh God, you guys are too much 

Jannat: That better be a compliment luv

Sidd(smirking): It's not 

Jannat: By the way, who are you gonna take to the dance?

Sidd: The freshman dance for the college fest?

Jannat nods.

Sidd: I don't know I guess I'll just take you and Anushka

Jannat(surprised): You wanna go with us?

Sidd: Are you going with someone else?

Jannat: I am not going to the dance in the first place. Hello? Broken leg here?

Sidd(shrugs): That ought to be fine till Friday.

Jannat: I don't know man, it still pains. I was honestly thinking about taking off the plaster today to check if the swell is any better now.

Sidd: Mmhm, well, there's no way I'm gonna let you miss out on the fun. So you are coming with us.

Jannat: Siddharth, seriously, how many times? Anti social people do not go to parties

Siddharth: With their best friends, they do

Jannat rolls her eyes.

She starts taking off the plaster while Siddharth helps her. The swelling was almost gone now. It would take about two more days for her to be fine.

Sidd: See? It's totally better now

Jannat: What about the pain-

As she was about to finish her sentence, Anushka came up to them. 

Anushka: So I assume he told you everything Jaanu?

Jannat: I'm all caught up baby

Anushka: Right, so I just met Riyaz outside his dorm. He kinda started to walk away when he saw me at first but then I stopped him in his tracks and apologised to him. He was totally confused, he said, "what happened to you?". I said, "Let's just say I wasn't well?". Then he nodded and said it was fine. So I came back here.

Sidd: Do you feel better now?

Anushka: Honestly, I think I should have told him about my feelings. Like I was going to but I just couldn't get myself to do it.

Jannat: Its okay, you can  take your time. Just make sure that you don't make it too late enough to hurt your feelings, alright?

Anushka smiles.

Jannat: By the way, who are you gonna with to the dance?

Anushka: I don't know, nobody's asked me yet. And I don't think I would wanna go with anybody other than Riyaz so..

Jannat: Siddharth here said he wanted to take us both.

Anushka: You would do that for us?

Sidd: Duh

Anushka hugs him from the side while Jannat sits there admiring them.

Jannat: Aw you guys look so adorable. I so need a photo.

She captures the moment quickly before Siddharth could start complaining about how he hates physical contact. 

Anushka: Waise, Siddharth? Jaanu told me about her 11th grade crush yesterday

Sidd(laughs): He was one funny dude

Jannat: He was. He really was

Sidd(narrowing his eyes at her: No no no he was funny for me becuz I used to make fun of him but why the heck was he funny for you?

Jannat: Why do you care? Let it go already

They talk for a while and head back to their dorms afterwards. After a while, Siddharth and Anushka go to the library to study for a test to be held the next day. And Jannat on the other hand, sits in her room deep in thoughts.

Jannat's POV: I don't know why Siddharth never stops being nice to me. Like what kind of a best friend would take you to the dance when tons of other girls would die to go with him? He never stops. Sometimes I feel like I am too mean to him, but I don't really wanna be. Like if I wanted to tell him all my feelings, then it would take me about a year to tell him everything. So many things untold. I wonder if I'll ever tell him anything at all. You know, maybe its high time. Maybe I could tell him everything on his next birthday. He should know how much he means to me. He deserves to know.
