Chapter - 1 The sleek intro

Hi! I'm Jannat. Jannat Zubair. Fondly called a couple of names which you will get to know soon. Well, if you wanna know more about me, I wont try to stop you. I am 18 years old and I am about to complete my teenage pretty soon. I study in L.D Medical University, one of the most prestigious colleges found in India. I have been wanting to become a doctor since my childhood, not because I want to earn a lot, but because I wanna serve humanity. I might seem very sweet and simple at first but honestly I am a badass, proudly of course. I love studying precisely (don't ask me why). An introvert, loves travelling, workaholic, supportive, bookworm are the best adjectives to describe me to give you a stark image of myself. I am not fond of too many people, so you can consider me anti social. Apart from that, I love my family. I still remember the day I had to leave the house to stay at the hostel in our university. It was a weird and uncomfortable feeling looking at my house for the last time from the premises. Well, I am pretty happy that I brought an important part of me here. Who? You will get to know soon. So mostly I will be narrating the story but you can count me out when my parts come along. Alrighty, that's enough about me.

Scene 1(L.D Medical University)

Siddharth Nigam walks in with his usual swag, putting his arm around a girl's shoulder who looks like a fashionista as she looked real pretty in her outfit. He seems to be explaining something really important to the girl.

Sidd: Welcome to L.D Medical University, this is where you will technically be breaking your brains for the next 5 years. I really wanted this to seem exciting but from the look on your face, I feel like I scared you.

Girl: Yeah of course you did. Firstly, you are a complete stranger and I want you to remove your hand. And secondly before telling me about this place aren't you supposed to introduce yourself?

Sidd: Hey, relax, I just wanted it to be a bit dramatic. Anyway now that you mention it, I am Siddharth. You can call me Sidd I guess. I am a freshman here just like you but I joined this place last semester itself. Why are you so late?

Girl: Okay, um, Hi Siddharth! I am Avneet Kaur. You can call me whatever you want to. I am joining late cuz I had some family issues at home so I kinda took an extended leave. Also, thanks for saving me back there. And can you direct me to the front office? I need to figure out my room number in the hostel and all my classes and stuff. I can already tell it's gonna be a lot of work. I feel exhausted now itself sigh.

Sidd: Avneet, I think you should breathe first. God you speak too much. And that's a compliment btw. Anyways, I will help you out with all the administration processes. Come on.

Avneet follows him with a smile on her face just to frown when he puts his arm on her shoulder again.

Sidd: Let me introduce myself first of all. I am pursuing a medical degree, that is like but obvious. I am an athlete too, I love working out too much. I like making new friends and I have a super famous boy gang here. Oh hey, you should totally meet all of them.

Avneet: Yeah I would love to try my chances with them (she winks)

Sidd laughs and continues: But there is something even more important to me than the boy gang. Jaan.

Avneet has a puzzled look on her face to which Sidd firmly nods.

Sidd: Her name is Jannat. Jannat sirf uska naam hi nahin, woh jannat jitni khubsurat bhi hai. Her smile can light up your day like anything. I call her Jaan, not just because her name can be shortened to Jaan but because she is my Jaan. So basically she is my Jaan, literally and metaphorically.

Avneet: Well I would love to meet her. And is she your girlfriend?

Sidd: Nope. She is my best friend. We have been friends for almost 12 years now.

Avneet (widens her eyes): Whoa, that's huge dude!

Sidd: Yeah. She is my family to be precise. We have been neighbours ever since we were six years old. Went to the same school, played at the same park, lived across each other, and now we have ended up going to the same college. Our families can be considered as one large family.

Avneet: Cute.

Sidd: Wait are you even interested in listening to my narration?

Avneet: Not really but since you are helping me out, I guess I could listen to you.

Sidd(pouting): Then leave it, I will go enlighten someone else with my amazing story. Hmph!

Avneet: Dude I was just joking. Your description of Jannat is making me wanna meet her real soon.

Just then, they reach the front office's entrance and Siddharth takes her in, helping her with all the administration processes. After about 15 minutes they are finally done. As they exit the office, they meet a girl outside with her arms folded as if she was expecting something obvious.
