Chapter - 42 Feelings

Jannat's POV: I was pacing around my room vigorously. I was deep in my thoughts and I had no idea what was going on around me. 

Anushka: Bro what the heck are you doing?

Jannat(stops and stares at her for a second and starts pacing again): Yaar

Anushka: What happened?

Jannat(comes and sits): Remember how yesterday Siddharth told us that he got the internship? 

Anushka(confused): Yeah?

Jannat: And remember how happy he was thinking about the fact that we both would be going to the same place?

Anushka: Yeah?

Jannat: Well, we're not going to the same place

Anushka: Huh?

Jannat: He landed the internship in Springfield, Massachusetts and I have to go to Springfield, Illinois

Anushka(stares at her blankly): Fuckkkkk

Jannat: Exactly

Anushka: Wait does he not know about this?

Jannat: I just told him I was going to Springfield and he automatically assumed that we were going to the same place

Anushka: We need to tell this to him. Otherwise, he won't be coming out of his fantasies for a long time

Jannat: I know! But I can't do it

Anushka: Uh why not?

Jannat: Cuz I'm in love with him

Anushka(screams): FUCKKKK

Jannat: Shushhh

Anushka: When did this happen? God, you didn't even tell me?!

Jannat(shrugs): I honestly don't know when it happened, I just know that it happened

Anushka: Okay, my poor heart 

Jannat: Dude chill

Anushka: Whoa whoa wait, are you okay with the fact that y'all will be leaving to different places in like a couple of days?

Jannat: Of course not. But right now, the bigger problem here is that he thinks we're going to the same place

Anushka: Right

Jannat: What do I even do? 

Anushka: Um, does he have feelings for you?

Jannat: I don't know, and I don't think so

Anushka: So negative yaa

Jannat: Aye shut up and help me out

Anushka: Bro he needs to know about this location malfunction

Jannat: Tell me something I do not know

Anushka: And he needs to know that you've feelings for him

Jannat(glares at her): Excuse me?!

Anushka: Oh come on, he deserves to know. I mean, a couple more days and you will be somewhere else and he will be somewhere else. Don't you think you should confess before you part ways? Besides, he might reciprocate and maybe you guys can do a long distance thingy

Jannat: Honey, first of all, slow down. And second of all, I'm too afraid to let him know

Anushka: Oh come on, it's worth a shot. More importantly, he's worth a shot. Don't you think?

Jannat: He is. But if he doesn't feel the same way, I could lose my friendship. The most precious friendship I've ever had. 

Anushka: True, but OH COME ON, GO CONFESS. Even if he doesn't reciprocate, its okay. Just tell him that you wanted him to know this before you part ways. 

Jannat: I'm so confused bruh 

Anushka: Okay let me put it this way. Would you rather have him know that you're in love and then leave or would you rather regret not telling him forever?

Jannat: I don't wanna regret anything

Anushka: Exactly. Don't you think he deserves to know? 

Jannat(sighs): He does 

Anushka: Think about it, its your call. But make sure you don't stress yourself over this. Alright?

I nodded. Finals were next week. Graduation wasn't that far away either. I had contacted my workplace about the dates and everything, and I was going to be leaving soon. Should I tell him?
