Chapter - 7 Here for you

Siddharth's POV: I was trying really very hard to avoid her question but she looked at me with that glimmer of hope shining in her eyes in such a way that I was gonna tell her the truth. But thankfully, that's when I realised we were getting late for our next class. Since me and Anushka had the same schedule, we both rushed to our class as soon as we could. We didn't make it on time, but the teacher let us in anyway. Our schedule was booked for the next 3 hours so that kinda saved me a bit. But of course she was anxious for a reply. That too a positive one. After the day in college finally ended, she dragged me to the garden where a lot of other people were sitting and chatting on the grass. Nature freaks. Some were even studying while listening to music while others were on the phone. Didn't she find a more "secluded" place than this? Apparently not. We sat down on one of the benches far away in a corner. 

Anushka: I am so tired ugh

Sidd: I feel you

Anushka: Accha now tell me pleaseeeeeeee

Siddharth's POV: WHY CAN'T SHE JUST FORGET ABOUT IT? Oh man what do I do now? Well, maybe coming clean and telling her the truth would be the best thing to do in this kind of a situation. So that's what I did. But the weirdest thing is, there was no change of expression in her face. I told her everything about Zahira but she didn't even budge. Um? What even?

Sidd: Are you okay?

Anushka: Yeah, I'm fine. Well, I'll see you later

She immediately picked up her bag and got up from the bench and started walking towards the main campus. I rushed after her and asked her to stop. 

Sidd: Look, I know it's gonna be hard for you but you are strong ok? You can get through this. And most importantly, we are all here for you.

Anushka's POV: Right, so it didn't exactly go as well as I hoped. Wow, what a day? I just found out my crush has a crush on my friend. Zahira was my lab partner and no wonder he is into her I mean she is a great person and she is super pretty. Man, my love life sucks. And the worst part? I had to try really hard to pretend that I didn't care about it when I was in front of Siddharth. But when he said those words after I ran off like a coward, the tears that I was holding back desperately, decided to show up and wet my face. I mean, I am not this weak yes but just think about it, how would you feel if you were to find out that a person you were very much into, didn't feel the same about you?

Anushka(starts crying): I don't feel like being strong anymore.

Sidd: Oh, come on! You are so much more than this. 

Siddharth's POV: Oh boy, maybe I made a mistake by telling her the truth. But sooner or later she had to face it right? When she started crying, I felt like slapping Riyaz. But hey, its not his fault either. I went forward and took her into a warm embrace. She could count on me anytime she needed me.

Sidd: Anushka yaar ro kyun rahi hai? Ismein rone jaisa kuch bhi nahin hai. Let's just say you effin' deserve better okay?

Anushka: How do you know?

Sidd: I know you well enough to predict that you are going to be following my advice.

Anushka(breaking the hug): What advice?

Sidd: Sometimes, being the better person means moving on, letting go, and hanging on till tomorrow. Hm, some really wise person once told me this. I wonder who it is?

Anushka: It was me.....but this is not going to be easy for me is it?

Sidd: Dude, that's what we are here for. We will get through this together. We are standing just by your side, alright?

Anushka: Thank you :)

Sidd: Do you wanna talk to Jaan about this?

Anushka: I don't wanna tell my pitiful story to anyone. You tell her.

Sidd(putting his arm around her shoulder): Chal let's go listen to her advice while I get you some ice cream

Anushka: I don't eat ice cream when I'm sad. Jaanu does.

Sidd: Really? What do you eat? Shit man i know this! What was it......Donuts yes!

Anushka: You know that?

Sidd: Luv please i know everything about you

After 20 minutes, Siddhath finishes narrating everything to Jannat who is holding Anushka in her arms who in turn, is digging into a box of donuts.

Jannat: I would give you advice on this, but I don't think its gonna be any better than Siddharth's advice. If you ever feel sad about this, just remember, we are here for you. We love you and you are very precious ok? We want that smile back come on dont sulk brooooooo

Anushka smiles weakly while Siddharth is busy picking a nice donut.

Jannat: Yaar lets do one thing. Let's go on a walk and get your mind fresh and my foot better.

Sidd: chalo 

Anushka leaves the room after 10 minutes to find her jacket as it is cold outside, and Siddharth goes behind her too. Jannat is left back in her room alone. She is lying on the bed with her upper body leaning on the headrest so it becomes difficult for her to get down, especially with her broken leg. She tries to get her foot down in a struggling manner.

Jannat's POV: Wah, kaise dost hain mere. Mera hi pair toota hai aur main hi akele chalke aaun. Ugh what am I gonna do with these two? That's when I saw a hand in front of my face. So technically at first I thought I was gonna get a slap on my face but the hand just stayed there without moving an inch. So I looked up to see who it was. And it didn't surprise me at all. I smiled bright at the person with "thank you" written all over my face as I took the offered hand.

Sidd(without even waiting for her to say thanks): Always.
