Chapter - 6 Ek dil hai, ek jaan hai

Jannat ate her favourite food silently while Siddharth sat beside her texting someone. Anushka was sitting on the chair reading a crime novel. The room opened and in came a guy in a black hoodie. 

Guy: Siddharth tu idhar hai? Yaar kab se dhundh raha hoon na tujhe 

Siddharth is about to reply when the guy sees Jannat with her fractured leg and goes:

Guy: Jaan, what happened?!

Siddharth: Aye! Jannat bol. Jaan woh sirf meri hai. 

Jannat: Hi Riyaz! Siddharth shush. Mera leg fracture ho gaya yaar. 

And she narrates him the whole story and after Siddharth finishes texting someone he looks at Anushka to see what she was doing(he was obviously bored with the other two).

Anushka had her book in her hands but she wasn't looking into it. Why? Because she was too busy staring at Riyaz. She was looking at him with her one hand on her cheek, admiring him profoundly. Siddharth whispers to her:

Sidd(in a laughing tone): You look like you just peed after holding back for about a half an hour.

Anushka hits him on the arm and says: Bro I need to talk to you outside.

Siddharth follows Anushka out of the room while Riyaz is still talking to Jannat, not noticing their absence in the room. 

Sidd: Bol

Anushka: I think I like Riyaz

Sidd(laughing while clutching his stomach): You think? Trust me if I could show you a photo of your face when you were looking, no, no, no, wait, staring at him, you wouldn't "think" that you like him

Anushka: Sidd yaar this is not funny shut up. I have genuine feelings for him. And FYI I would be more than happy telling this to Jannat but since she is in there with him, I had to tell this to you.

Sidd: Wait what? Jaan doesn't know about this?

Anushka nods in a no while Siddharth hugs her and she is taken aback by surprise. 

Sidd: Itna pyaar kabse aane lag gaya mujhpe ki you didn't tell your "girl bestie" about this but you told me, of all people on earth, about this?

Anushka(shrugs): Haan becuz you were the first person to notice the change in my expression.

Sidd: Yeah your face was full of the 15 things that your body does when you are around your crush.

Anushka: See? You noticed, and honestly you are the first person to notice. 

Sidd(wearing his sunglasses to look cool): Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week!

Anushka: Bro first tell me. He is your roommate so you obviously know everything about him. 

Sidd: What do you wanna know?

Anushka(anxiously): Does he like someone?

Siddharth's POV: I felt special, happy, and important when Anu said she had not told about her feelings to anybody. I mean yeah we fight, and the number of arguments we have in a day will obviously make you doubt this. I call her names, bug her, annoy her but she means a lot to me. I have a Dil and I have a Jaan. Anushka is definitely my Dil as we all know who is my Jaan. But that's when it struck me. She asked me if Riyaz liked someone. I felt shattered and disappointment was written all over my face. Why? Because he does. He likes Zahira from his pharma class. That was totally out of my mind until she came up with that question. Oh God, what do I do now? Do I tell her the truth and see her sulk right in front of me or do I lie to her and see her keep her hopes high? Oh man, this is so not gonna be easy. She will be heartbroken if I told her about Zahira. What do I do?!
