Chapter - 20 You did what now?!

Jannat's POV: I woke up to the spreading vibrations of my phone which was kept on the side table. I picked it up with one eye open and realised it was 2 am in the morning. Oh wow, the week flew by fast. It's Friday already. Anyway, it was a message from the college cultural committee. It stated that Monday onwards, there's gonna be singing and dancing competitions along with a ramp walk for girls, and so they needed names for participation. Yes, very exciting. Pfft, let me sleep already! 

After 5 hours, I was up and about since I had my first class of the day at 7 am in the morning. I was still sleepy of course. I trailed along lazily to my class and spotted Anushka sitting in a far corner. I walked up to her and sat beside her. Yeah this was the only class that me, Anushka and Siddharth had together so we totally looked forward to Friday despite the fact that we are together like literally everyday. The only drawback is that we have to get up super early. Anyway, I noticed that Siddharth wasn't there yet. 

Jannat: Hi Jaanu!

Anushka: Hola, morning 

Jannat: Siddharth nahin aaya? 

Anushka(laughs): He's most definitely sleeping in

Jannat: I'll have to call him now ugh

On call, 

Sidd(in a sleepy tone): Hello?

Jannat: Dude wake up, you're gonna miss your 7 am class

After a moment of silence, I pulled the phone out of my ear to see if the call was disconnected. Of course, I was staring at my very own lock screen. He literally cut the call what even?! But I'm not gonna lie, this guy is literally the sort of person who gets super annoyed and cranky when it comes to sleep and food. Anushka sat there beside me trying to control her laughter really bad. 

Right, so I had classes with almost everyone I knew on Friday particularly. First class with my babies, about 3 classes with Riyaz and one with Reem. 

The next time I met Siddharth was directly at lunch. And that too, he was finished with his lunch. I might kill this guy. I had lunch with Anushka and Siddharth sat opposite us with his headphones on and his phone in a tilted position in his hands. He was obviously gaming. Well, it works as long as he doesn't start abusing his opponent in the virtual realm. 

After lunch, Siddharth told me that he was going to start attending classes now. As in, he literally skipped like 5 classes. Can he be any more idiotic? No, apparently not. Jannu and I were sitting on one of those high pavements on the sidewalk when Siddharth came out of nowhere and hit me on the head when I was on my phone. I was annoyed.

Jannat: Dude, what the heck is wrong with you?

Sidd: Ladies, we have our dance today wohooooooo. Are y'all ready?

Anushka: I can't believe I actually agreed to go with a jerk like you

Sidd: I'm a player babe

Anushka(laughing with her hand on her stomach): Stop you're hurting my sides!!

Sidd: That was NOT funny 

Jannat: When will you guys stop behaving like such babies?

Sidd: When she starts to reply and act normally, hmph

Anushka: Accha fine, I'll give you a response you want. WE ARE READY TO GO TO THE DANCE WITH YOU BABYYYY

Jannat: Spirit babyyyy

Sidd: Guys, enough with the "baby", everyone's staring at us

Jannat(shrugs): You started it. I can shout louder than this you know?

Sidd: Oh right, I'm gonna need you to do that but in a melodious way 

Jannat: Um, what's that supposed to mean?

Anushka(to Sidd): Oh no, you didnt!

Sidd(smirks): I did 

Anushka: Dude, you didn't even ask her

Sidd: Yeah, well sometimes a lil pushing needs to be done

Jannat: Hello? Excuse me? Anybody care to tell me what's going on?

Anushka: He signed you up for the singing competition

Sidd: You're welcome

Jannat(blank): Wait-

Anushka: You're gonna have to compete in front of a live audience with a lot more contestants

Jannat(glaring at Sidd): YOU DID WHAT?! 

Sidd: Oh come on, we all know how much you love singing. Plus, you're actually pretty good at it. I knew you wouldn't do this on your own, so I decided to do it for you yayyyyyyy

Anushka keeps her hand on her mouth after looking at Jannat flaring her nostrils at Sidd.

Jannat: But what about my stage fright, you dumbfuck

Sidd: Everybody needs to let go of their fear some day or the other. 

Jannat: You didn't even freaking ask me once

Sidd: Let's face it. If I would have asked you, you would have straight up punched me in the face. So I did this.

Jannat(pushes him hard): That's not gonna save you from my violence banter, mister

Sidd: See? Now we're even

Jannat(looking at Anushka): Please tell me you weren't in on this?

Anushka: Bro he told me that he was thinking about doing it but like I didn't think he would actually do it. I thought it was some sort of a prank.

Sidd: I don't get why you're so afraid. You are so amazing in singing. What's the big deal? Just give it a try. And its not like the whole college is gonna be there anyway

Jannat: I am so mad at you that I could literally kick you in the ass right now 

Sidd(smiling): You could do that but does that mean you're gonna sing? 

Jannat: Yeah, I guess. I mean they're definitely not gonna agree on removing my name from the list. But keep this in your mind, I freaking hate you!

Sidd: And again, you're welcome xd
