Siddharth's POV: I turned to my left to see this young, free spirited girl that Jannat had become. We were peeking outside of our convertible's top. I looked at her as a cool breeze flew and hit her on the face, making her hair strands dance. She gave an ear piercing scream. A scream filled with joy, excitement and happiness.

Jannat's POV: We had rented a car to go on a long drive. It was so much fun. This would prolly be our last trip together. We were all in the last semester of college now. Time flew by fast. So our gang decided to take a memorable trip for the last time. As much as it hurt, I was beyond happy about the fact that I was getting to take a boatload of memories. Beautiful memories. I felt his gaze on me. Siddharth and I were crazy about long drives since we were little. And this thing was a convertible, so of course, we were the only ones standing high. Anushka was sitting below and she was singing along with the music in the car while scrolling through her phone. Reem and Avneet were sitting ahead talking about random things. Riyaz was driving the car. And Siddharth's boy gang was right behind us, in another SUV. Even though Sidd could have gone with them in the other car, he preferred sitting with us, in between two girls who annoy him so much. That's the Siddharth I fell for.

We reached our college soon enough and after a goodbye, we left for our rooms. The first thing I did after freshening up was open my laptop. I opened gmail nervously and when I read that I had received a reply from them, my heart beat knew no bounds. Oh right. I forgot to mention this. About a couple of days ago, I had applied for an internship in JH hospitals, USA. They had tons of branches, and they were like the most popular network of hospitals in the US. I wanted this internship so bad. Like I had faith in myself that I could most definitely land a job if the internship is a success. There was so much to learn, so much to explore. I had only one course left in this semester which will be over pretty soon. Graduation was approaching, and so were finals of course. Anyways, my heart was pretty much racing when I saw that I had received a reply. I opened the mail with fear in my eyes and read the mail very very slowly. I figured out that I landed the internship. YES! They even mentioned that I had phenomenal grades, and that it would be an honor for them if I joined them. I would be assisted by a senior doctor Ms. Caroline Clain. It was an internship that would last for a year. And my branch was in Springfield, Illinois. I was really happy. My dream was coming true. What more would I want?

And no, I wasn't the only one who had applied for this. Siddharth had applied along with me. I don't know why he did that. He was a 100% sure that he wouldn't get this internship but he said he wanted to try his chances. Anushka was going to pursue a higher degree in psychology in India itself. And Riyaz hadn't done anything as yet cuz he had two courses pending this semester.

I ran over to the canteen where Anushka, Riyaz, and Siddharth were drinking coffee. But before that, I told Reem who had just come out of the bathroom. She was just as happy. I crashed the table were three of them were sitting and I screamed. With happiness.

Siddharth jerked, shaking his coffee mug a little. He obviously got scared. Anushka and Riyaz looked at me with surprise.

Jannat: I LANDED THE INTERNSHIP!

Anushka: Bro, oh my God, this is genius! Congratulations baby!

Riyaz: Arrey Jaan, congrats yaar!

Siddharth, on the other hand, wasn't even listening to me. He was too busy wiping the coffee that had fallen on his hand with a tissue. I went up to him and screamed again. And when he actually listened that I had got the internship, he hugged me whole heartedly.

Sidd(shouting in her ear): CONGRATULATIONSSS!

Yeah, that's how he took revenge. Idiot.

And then he asked me my branch and I told him I had to travel to Springfield.

Next I called my mom to let her know. She was obviously happy but scared at the same time. I mean, I had to stay in a foreign country for about a year, why wouldn't she be scared? Her first question was if Siddharth was accompanying me? Seriously? Sometimes, I feel like she trusts him more than me. God.

And about two days later, Siddharth came up to me with a huge grin on his face and shoved his phone in front of my face. It was a mail from them. Again. I read the mail to find out that he had been accepted too. How wonderful is this? We went to school together, college together, and now we would be going for a job together.

Sidd's POV: I mean, of course I landed the internship. I was often accused of being that guy who always says I haven't studied anything but comes out as the topper of the class. Oh well. I was happier about the fact that I had my internship in Springfield too, which means Jaan and I would be going together. Her company is something that I can't live without.

Jannat's POV: Anushka came up by the time I was halfway through the letter. Siddharth shouted that he was going to Springfield too. My expectations were so high, I'm not gonna lie. This could be so much fun. And that's when my heart skipped a beat. His branch was Springfield, Massachusetts.
