Chapter - 21 Heavenly

After the day at college ended, Anushka flopped down on my bed while I went into the bathroom for a quick freshening up session. I was super mad at Siddharth for doing things without my consent even though I know he's just trying to help. But I have a terrible stage fright and honestly I hate speaking to people, even in general. I let my brain run its thoughts as I splashed ice cold water on my face, and soothingly rubbed some facewash. I looked into the mirror and started thinking that people see me as a beautiful girl who is all perfect and amazing. But they don't know that I'm broken on the inside. Its like, I'm broken but beautiful. The thing that bugs me the most is that a lot of people just randomly make assumptions and judge people without knowing what they are going through. Like not every smile that you see is genuine. Some are fake, some are surreal, and some are very much real. 

I got out of the bathroom after wiping my face to see Anushka laying on my bed on her stomach while looking into her phone on the side. 

Anushka(lazily): Broooo

Jannat: Yes baby

Anushka: What you gonna wear to the dance?

Jannat: At this point, I just wanna wear a hoodie and sweatpants. But since its a "dance", I have to dress up like a "girl" 

Anushka: Ugh I'm honestly not in the mood to do anything right now. But we have like 2 hours to get ready and stuff

Jannat: Yeah no I'm definitely not getting ready now. 

Anushka: Yaar actually I'm hungry. Let's go get some food. Last time I ate was like 5 freaking hours ago

Jannat(laughs): Alright, let's go

About an hour later, I was back in my room and Anushka joined me after 5 minutes. She knocked on the door and when I opened it, I saw her carrying a gorgeous white dress that looked somewhat like a gown with her one hand, and she was smiling real bright. I let her in and she told me she was gonna get ready in my room with me. So she had asked Reem who was in Anushka's room with Avneet to stay there and get ready. 

Jannat: Wow, I can already tell that you're gonna look heavenly in that dress 

Anushka: We'll see I guess. What about you? What are you gonna wear?

Jannat(opens her wardrobe): What looks good here?

Anushka: Lemme search wait

She ran her hands dress after dress until her hands touched that one dress. She started screaming at the top of her lungs.

Anushka(taking out a sapphire blue dress): OH MY GOD, JAANU WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING THIS?! 

Jannat: Ouch, my ears! You want me to wear that one? Well okay, blue works

Anushka went into the bathroom to change first. I was in the middle of reading a book when the bathroom's door lock clicked open and she walked out looking as beautiful as ever. 

Jannat: Aw, look at my baby all dressed up

Anushka(smiles): The bathroom is all yours hun

I came out soon enough and I received quite a reaction. Anushka literally started screaming. 

Anushka: LOOK AT YOU! YOU LOOK SO FREAKING GORGEOUS!!!

Jannat: I hardly believe that, but thank youuu

An hour later, 

Siddharth's POV: I was outside Jaan's room. I was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie inside. Girls all over the campus were giving me looks. What looks? The "can I make you mine" looks. I knocked on her door and looked away to see a guy and a girl making their way out of the girls' dorm for the dance. What I hadn't noticed was that the door was already open and somebody was standing before me. When I looked back to face the door, I saw Anushka standing in front of me instead. She was smiling at me bright. She was wearing a white gown decorated with pearls to add glamour. She looked like a freaking angel. Her milky white face was complemented by her dark, black, and long hair that dropped down till her waist. Her eyes looked beautiful too. 

Anushka: EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA 

Sidd(snapping out of his trance): Hm? Uh, first of all, whoaaaaaaaaaaa, you look sooo pretty. And secondly, did you just dedicate that song to yourself? Bro despo lag rahi hai ek number ki

Anushka: I was not the one who kept staring at myself for about 2 whole minutes..? It was you, so I thought I should help you in finding your words. Pretty accurate, haina?

Sidd(smirks): Anyway

I kneeled down and touched the floor with my one knee. And I extended my hand towards the angel that stood before me and asked in a husky voice

Sidd: Would you go to the dance with me babyyyyy

Anushka: I really don't want to but I have no choice

I glared at her giving her a death stare and she gradually gave in.

Anushka(placing her hand in Siddharth's): Alright fine, I'm kidding. Yeah, I would love to go to the dance with you babyyyyy

I was about to get up from my sitting down waala position but then something happened. I saw Jaan come out to the same place where Anushka was standing to tell her something. She had no clue that I was there, sitting below her. She looked surreal, my whole world looked surreal. Everything was on the fringe at that moment, my focus was only on her. I couldn't take my eyes off of her and I ended up smiling like an idiot looking, no wait, staring at her. One word- heavenly. She looked heavenly.
