Chapter - 10 Back to square one..?

Siddharth's POV: After the classes ended, I was on my way to drop Anushka in her room and head back to my dorm when I saw Jaan walking towards us with her crutches. 

Sidd: Jaan yaar, kitni baar kaha hai akele mat chala kar aise. Gir jaayegi toh aur lag jaayegi

Jannat: Arrey yaar kuch nahin hoga. Jaanu kaisa gaya din?

Anushka: Okayish. By the way, saare teachers tujhe bohoth miss kar rahe hain.

Jannat(smiling): Impression dekh lo meri 

Sidd: Haan bas chal ab waapis

Jannat: Dude chill I just got here. Do you not want me to get better soon?

Sidd: Alright fine. Come on, let's help you "get better"

Siddharth carefully took her crutches from her hands and gave her his arm. She responded by linking her arm into his and started limping around. Anushka got a call from her mother and went a little far to attend it. Just then, Abhishek came and they both were caught off the hook since they rarely met him in the campus. But Jannat wasnt as surprised since she had met him just a few hours ago.

Abhishek: Hey guys, what's happening?

Jannat: Walking around to get my foot better

Abhishek without waiting for another second walked up beside Jannat and offered his arm. Jannat linked her other arm around his offered one and smiled bright at him.

Jannat's POV: You see? That's what I am talking about. That's my family. I'm so glad he came up on my right since I wasn't happy putting all my weight hanging on to Siddharth, who was on my left. Now everything was balanced, and I felt super happy. Like where would you even get such gems? Life isn't always nice to you, but it knows exactly when and where it should shower all the "nice". Well, Siddharth and Abhishek talked to each other about all random things and I focused on my leg. Wow, it hurts. I mean, limping is a lot of work, trust me. Anyway, after about 10 minutes, Anushka ran up to us and asked to take Siddharth a little away for a while. It wasn't weird but maybe she wanted to talk to him alone about something. Plus, panic was written all over her face. So he walked along with her while I looked over at Abhi bhiaya who was as confused as me if not more. 

Sidd: dude, what happened? You look super pale

Anushka: I just met Riyaz.

Sidd: Whoa back up, what happened?

Anushka: I was talking to my mom on the phone and I had just hung up when he came up to me and he was like Hi Anushka. I saw his face and went completely and totally blank, plus I was angry so I kinda yelled at him saying "I have moved on with my life okay? You should too". And then I ran away from there. Dude what the heck did I just do?

Sidd: Right, so I know this is a crisis moment for you, and I'm not supposed to laugh but I'm trying really really hard not to laugh.

Anushka(hits him on the arm): THIS ISN'T FUNNY

Sidd: Alright look, its okay. I mean, you didn't even know what you were saying and you were obviously not in your senses.

Anushka: I feel like I just ruined everything. Its just like how I first met him. Last semester he had come up to me and said "hi do you know where the auditorium is?". And I was having cramps that time so I kinda yelled at him, "I DON'T KNOW AND I DON'T CARE. NOW CAN YOU PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE?". He ran away after that, and after that day I met him in the library and apologised to him, and we became like really good friends. Then I developed feelings for him and then my heart got broken AND NOW WE ARE BACK TO SQUARE 1, RIGHT WHERE WE STARTED.

Sidd(in between peals of laughter): Oh my God, I had no idea you both met like that. This is way too funny, I should have recorded that, dang it, I missed it.

Anushka(glares at him coldly): I hate you.

Sidd: Listen hun, this might be a signal. I mean, you just did what you did on your first meet. So maybe, this is life's way of telling you that this might be the start of something new for you.

Anushka: wow, I didn't believe Jaanu when she said you were good at these talks but damn, you are so good.

Sidd(smirking): Well, when you have had a confused person like Jaan in your life for 12 years, you develop this skill very well.

Anushka: Do you think I should apologise to him?

Sidd: Absolutely. And if I were in your place, I would tell him the truth about my feelings. 

Anushka: But I don't wanna break the friendship that we have. And admitting my feelings would be really hard for me. 

Sidd: Its up to you. And since you wanna take it slow, lets do one thing. Firstly, lets start with apologising. Maybe we can proceed further after what he says. Find out more about him. Discover his feelings for Zahira. Be a good friend to him.

Anushka: I love youuuuu

Sidd: too, now come on go say sorry.

Anushka nods and leaves and Siddharth stands there smiling and shaking his head at her almost disappeared figure.
