A week later..... So, 3 weeks after meeting Chris
Scott had gone back to Cali but planned on coming back soon

Sitting on the dock, talking to my bff.....

Calvin and I FaceTimed here and there but we mostly texted because of the time differences and working and stuff.  I really did miss him but having my new friends was helping me because Calvin was busy with his family when he wasn't at his job.  I was sitting down feeding some ducks when Calvin called and I pressed the button to accept the call.

"Hello!"

"There you are!  I've missed your face!"

"Awe, me too.  How's your Grammy?"

"'Bout the same.  Whatcha been up to?"

"Would you believe me if I said I actually have still been hanging out with a few new friends here and there?  It helps that they live across the canal."

"What?  Good for you girlie!  You been out on the beach or somethin'?  It looks like you got some sun."

"Yeah, we went out yesterday actually.  I drove them out so it was less crowded on the beach.  They're like me, they like it low key, not much into crowds."

I heard Chris from across the canal.  "Hey Y/N!  What's up?"  I told Calvin to hold on a second.

"Talking to Calvin on FaceTime."

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see that you were on the phone."

"No, you're fine, come over and meet Calvin.  Seriously, come over."

Chris got in the kayak, crossed the canal in one swoop of the paddle  and hopped out before tying it to a post on my little pier.  Probably would have been less effort to walk over but would have taken longer.  He sat down beside me as Calvin and I were finishing up talking about how his family was doing.  I'm not sure how Calvin didn't see my devious smile while I waited because I knew this would be funny after he realized who my new friend was.    I had intentionally kept it from him because I honestly never thought they would keep coming around.  I'm glad they do, but it still amazes me.  Leaning over, I pulled Chris into the screen.  "Calvin, this is one of the guys I've been hanging out with.  Chris this is Calvin, who I've told you about."

Chris spoke first.  "Hey Calvin, nice to finally meet you."

"Nice to meeee....". I jumped back onto the screen I had turned toward Chris when Calvin became speechless.

"Oh yeah, uh, Calvin, I left out one detail.  Sorry."

Chris was laughing.  "You've told him about some new friends but didn't tell him who I was?  Wow!  Like I said the other night, it's hard to find people like you that don't make a big deal about who I am."  He gave me a quick hug from the side and I giggled.  "Seriously, it's really a great quality, you're too good to be true."

Calvin addressed Chris.  "She is pretty special, she just refuses to acknowledge it.  Thanks for being a friend to her.  She tends to keep her guards up and not socialize.  She's a hard egg to crack but once you do, she's a good one to keep around."

"I've noticed.  I can be the same way though so I understand.  You know she is turning the heads of a few guys here though?"

I shoved Chris' shoulder playfully.  "Really?  Not necessary."

Calvin knew what Chris was talking about.  "Ah, I'm guessing you've met Tommy then.  Am I right mate?"

Chris started laughing and I shoved his shoulder again before I spoke up to address them both.  "We will not be discussing this any further.  You both know that will go no further than friendship."
