I heard some sniffling behind me and when I turned toward the sound, I found Scott who recorded the proposal. He stepped out from behind the tree for a hug. He had gotten some pictures too, which I was pretty excited to have so we could look back on them.
Chris wanted a short engagement, which meant lots of planning, and quick. Slowly, our foreign friends trickled in. We wanted to try to hang out at my house for a bit, just us and friends, before heading back to our wedding destination. Kind of like our bachelor and bachelorette parties. Rachel was included in on the fun of course and I even invited Tommy.
It was going to be a small wedding with close family and friends at my grandparents house since the farm had lots of room. There was a perfect spot with big trees to hang lights. It was beside one of the old buildings that was fairly empty. My parents wanted to work on decorating that and setting up the tables and everything in there, hoping we could have the ceremony right outside of it. So, they told us to go back to the beach and have fun with our friends for a bit and they'd see us soon.
Of course we both felt bad about leaving and letting them do what needed to be done. Lisa was on her way along with Chris' sisters to help too. Everyone insisted they had it covered. I told them i was fine with whatever they wanted, I really wasn't picky. I'd marry Chris on the beach right now, but I knew it wouldn't work there. At least at home it was private property and the people in town would protect our privacy. They'd do the same here, just not to the degree of where I'd grown up at.
Chris wanted to post something so it would be known on his terms that he was engaged. What better way than a famous Dodger post.
