(ENG) Chapter One - Twin Deaths

"The victim's name's Nankhul Vitchara, a young man, 25 years old, the cause of death was due to internal bleeding caused by an accident..." A junior policeman read out the accident victim's report.

"What about the bus driver?"

"I've been interrogating him, he said that the victim suddenly ran to the front of the bus and he didn't have time to hit the brake, some passengers who were witnesses also said the same thing..."

"Was the accident recorded on the CCTV?"

"No, incidentally the CCTV angle was blocked by the truck body, but from the autopsy result, the victim was reported to be in a drunken state which caused him to unconsciously run into the middle of the road, therefore this case was reported as an accident category..."

"Have you informed the victim's family?"

"The victim was from Ban Na Ton Chan, but it is said that he has no relatives, his parents have passed away three years ago..."

The police inspector did not comment and read the report again.

Suddenly the junior cop realized something and asked.

"Aren't you also from Ban Na Ton Chan? Do you perhaps know him?"

The police inspector glanced at him and replied. "My family moved to Bangkok when I was seven years old and I didn't familiar with the place either..."

He then showed his ID.

'Phana Kongthanin, place of birth Ban Na Ton Chan, 20 October 1995...'

"Yet, you still share the hometown with the victim..." commented the junior cop.

"Do you want to tell me to come to the funeral?"

"You should be..." replied the junior cop.

"You know I don't like the atmosphere at the funeral house, but considering about sharing the hometown...." he paused for a second before continuing. "I probably will make a stop for a second..."

Finished saying so, he immediately grabbed the car keys and left the room.

But when he was about to leave, suddenly he heard someone screaming from inside the cell.

"Hey, let me out!!! You guys caught the wrong person!!!" someone shouted and banged from inside the cell.

"Who is screaming?!! It's so noisy!!!" Phana protested, he walked towards the cell and saw who was making a fuss.

"Why are you putting me in jail?!!! Tell me what was my fault?!!"

"Who is he?" Phana asked the jailer.

"His name's Singto Prachaya, he is the driver who hit the victim in the bus accident..."

"He did it?!!" Phana widened his eyes in surprise.

"Who did it?!! Even though I accidentally hit him but the poor guy didn't die by my car!!!"

"I-I don't understand..." Phana scratched his forehead.

"He's right, the victim was killed by a bus after surviving being hit by the man's car..."

Phana shortly rushed to the front of the cell and interrogated him. "What is your connection with the victim? Did you hit him on purpose?"

"Huh? Are you kidding? I don't even remember his face..."

"What do you mean? Then why did you hit him?"

"I didn't hit him!!! He ran in front of my car all of a sudden, fortunately, I managed to hit the brakes, who would have thought he was destined to die that night...you should arrest the bus driver who killed him and not me!!!"
