(ENG) Chapter Eight - New Evidence

A few days later, Phana finally returned to Bangkok after receiving a report from one of his subordinates who informed him that the two people born after him and Singto had been found.

Phana read the report wide-eyed and was shocked to see one of the names. 'Veera Suwannarat' and 'Thong Sunnapath'.

"According to rumors, the two of them have been matched since birth and are planning to get married at the end of this year..." reported a police officer, "You must be surprised to hear this..." he paused for a second. "Reportedly, the bride-to-be ran away from home, her family is worriedly looking for her right now..."

"This is impossible, I've seen Veera's ID card, and she was born in Bangkok, February 28, 1996..." Pha muttered to himself.

"D-did you make any mistake?" Pha asked the police as pointed at Veera's file.

"No, I have investigated it, the parent's name of the baby girl who born on November 19, 1995, is the Suwannarat couple, and the birth date is different because they just registered the birth certificate three months later in Bangkok..."

Pha didn't want to believe it, he finally understood why the girl's parents were so desperately against their relationship, forcing her to leave the country because the person who was destined to be her partner was a man named Thong.

Pha's chest felt a squeeze knowing that fact.

But he immediately put that aside and worried about something else.

"Er...do you know the bride?" asked the junior cop, looking at Pha suspiciously.

Pha gasped instantly and immediately racked his brains. "Er, no...I thought I knew her...." replied Pha, lying. "Her name is similar to...one of my school friends..." he swallowed nervously.

"She must have had someone she loves out there and didn't know her destiny, what a shame..." commented the junior cop.

"That is none of your business!" shouted Pha and immediately changed the subject. "We must immediately solve this serial murder mystery to help her..."

He then checked the calendar and calculated the date. "There are still 4 months and 18 days before her birthday, if I fail, you must try to find a way to solve this mystery yourself and save them at any cost...."

"Aw, you should be worrying about yourself, less than 2 months from now is your birthday..." the junior cop reminded him. "Sometimes even if you don't believe in icebergs, it's better to wear a life jacket in advance before the ship is sinking! Because if you don't try to save yourself, then you can't save anyone..." he added.

Pha was silent for a moment and nodded in understanding, he glanced at his watch for a moment then took out his cell phone to call someone before grabbing his car keys and walking out.

Phana stopped his car in front of the school gate, then walked out and lit a cigarette while observing his surroundings.

Not long after, Singto appeared from a distance and walked with long strides towards him. Pha froze instantly when he saw the face of someone he knew behind the man.

"When are you coming back?" Singto asked in a casual tone.

Phana didn't answer, his attention was on Veera, and wondered what the girl was doing here.

"This is a school area, you shouldn't be smoking here!" protested Singto.

Suddenly he grabbed the cigarette from Pha's hand, dropped it on the floor to put out the fire, then picked it up again and threw it in the trash.
