(ENG) Chapter Nineteen - Caught in Fire

From the hospital, Pha decided to visit Singto's apartment to discuss something, he also remembered his conversation with the man, which had not finished in his office, so he will also invite him to drink, he thought.

When he arrived at the parking lot, Pha widened his eyes in surprise to see Singto making out with a woman in his car, he did not want to believe it. His chest seemed to rise and fall, and his hand was gripping the steering wheel firmly, but he just froze inside the car and watched it finish.

He remembered Singto's words again, and wondered if the man was trying to bury everything that happened between them by dating a woman, Pha thought.

Not long after, Singto and the woman got out of the car, as well as Phana, he decided to greet them while smiling broadly.

Singto looked surprised to see him and wondered if the man saw what he did a moment ago, but he acted as if nothing happened, besides that Pha also didn't mention what he saw and acted as if it didn't matter.

Singto then pulled him a little away and asked curiously. "Why are you here all of a sudden? Are there any new leads on Khem?"

"Er..." Pha racked his brains for a moment and nodded. "Can we talk in your apartment?"

"Of course..."

Singto then briefly introduced the two and told Pha that the girl was one of the teachers at his school, and she just moved next door to his apartment. After the introductory session was over, the three of them walked into the elevator together.

"Can you stop at my place for a moment?"

While in the elevator, the girl suddenly invited Singto to her apartment.

"Er..." Singto hesitated for a moment as he glanced at Pha who was glaring at him as if warning him to refuse.

"I tried making brownies this morning, I want you to try some..." the girl reasoned.

Singto nodded after thinking for a moment, Phana didn't want to believe it.

Pha paced back and forth in front of Singto's apartment door anxiously, wondering what Singto was doing in that woman's apartment. Yet, the man said that he would come out immediately after picking up the brownie, but half an hour had passed, there was no sign that he would come out.

His patience was running out and finally, he decided to knock on the woman's apartment door.

Pha pressed the bell impatiently and was surprised when he saw Singto open the door, then stared in shocked to see the girl appeared behind him wearing a bathrobe.

Phana froze in front of the door with a dumbfounded expression, then looked at the two alternately with a thousand questions in his head.

"Didn't I give you my apartment key?" asked Singto. "Why didn't you wait inside?"

Pha ignored his question and asked back with a serious expression.

"What are you doing so long?"

"I..."

The girl immediately interrupted. "I asked Singto to help me change the light bulb while I showered..."

"I see..." Pha nodded a few times. "Then, do you still have any business with him?"

The girl looked surprised and replied. "No, but I want to invite him to eat brownies while chatting, would you like to join?"

"No thanks, if your business is finished, then we shall go home and finish our business..." Pha emphasized.
