(ENG) Chapter Five - Spirit Summoning

"I did not expect that we are actually neighbors..." Phana said in surprise when Singto told him that he lived in the next building.

The two of them chat with each other in the elevator.

"Sorry, I misunderstood you at that time, I thought you were following me..." Singto felt embarrassed and changed the topic. "I wonder if we've met before..."

"Well, we met at birth, you forgot?" Said Pha, laughing.

Meanwhile, Singto was dumbfounded with a confused expression, trying to remember something.

"We've arrived..."  He stop laughing and felt awkward, then walked out ahead of Singto.

"This is the first time I invite a stranger to my place..."

"Aw, am I going to disturb you?"

"Don't get me wrong, my apartment is very messy because I'm used to living alone..."

"I could understand that..."

They finally arrived at the door, Phana then entered the password to open the door and invited his guest to come in after him.

"Please come in, make yourself at home..." Phana turned on the light and took off his shoes, put it carelessly.

Singto followed him in and didn't comment, he stepped in hesitantly and froze instantly with a shocked expression when saw the scene before his eyes. He wondered if he was currently in the apartment of a police inspector or a pirate's den.

"Well, I don't have time to clean up my apartment..." Pha explained as he picked up things scattered on the floor. "Sorry, if you feel uncomfortable and want to return, I will not hold you..."

Singto replied in hesitant. "Don't worry, I'm not bothered...by all of this..." then sighed softly trying to get used to it.

"I'm glad to hear that..." Phana said in relief. "Alright, I will prepare the bed for you..." he continued then walked toward the room. "Do you want to take a shower?" he asked the man before going inside.

Singto didn't answer, he walked over to the sofa and sat down carefully, his eyes fixed on the pile of empty noodle cups and cigarette packs on the table in front of him, then turned to aside when he realized his hand was touching something.

His eyes widened in shock when saw a black boxer pressed under his palm, he then reflexively pulled his hand, swallowed hard, and pretending not to see it.

Next, he heard the sound of water dripping from the tap, then turned his head towards the kitchen, his breath felt so tight when saw the pile of dirty dishes that were mounting on the dining table and sink, and his head felt dizzy when he smelled pungent of the full trash can.

This is more terrifying than poltergeist activity at his home, he thought. He doubted whether he could sleep in peace tonight.

Fifteen minutes later, Phana walked out of the room after finished arranging the bed, finding Singto asleep on the sofa.

He looked at the man in silence for a moment, "He must be so tired to fall asleep anywhere..." he said while shaking his head.

Accidentally, his eyes caught the pile of boxers on the sofa and cigarette butts on the table, then stepped carefully to the sleeping man and cleaned all the trash and clothes around it.

When finished, he helps Singto lay carefully on the sofa, then went into the room to get a pillow and blanket for him. 

"Good night...."

Towards midnight, suddenly Pha was startled by the sound of his cellphone ringing that tells him about the suspect named Mai, found drowned at the crime scene and was rushed to the emergency room.
