____________________________Yamaguchi
"How do you feel, Mrs. Tsukishima?" A doctor stood beside Kaori-san's bed as they finally had ended their vital signs check up on her.
Kaori-san breathes slowly, as if she still had difficulty catching her breath, "Painful . . ." She sighed, her voice hoarse and raspy.
The doctor nods her head before writing down a bunch of things on a paper, "Mmhmm . . ." She hummed, still writing, "Don't worry, Mrs. Tsukishima, we'll get you your pain killers,"
Kaori-san closed her eyes as her head rested on the pillow beneath her, shifting on the bed uncomfortably, I hear Akiteru-san heave a heavy sigh, before rubbing his temples.
"I'll come back in a few," The doctor said as she faced Akiteru-san and Tsukki, with a smile as she bowed her head in a slight manner.
Akiteru-san bowed his head back to express his gratitude, "Thank you so much," He smiled.
Tsukki sat on the chair beside the bed with his arms crossed in front of him, his face masked with bored expression.
"We're happy you're finally awake, mom," Akiteru-san took Kaori-san's small hand in his as he rubbed the back of her hand for comfort.
Kaori-san didn't reply but a sigh escaped her lips, giving Akiteru-san a small smile, as if it took a lot to do so. I didn't know how bad Kaori-san's injuries were not until the doctors had explained it to us a while back.
They told us she couldn't have survived the crash . . .
Kaori-san had a few broken ribs. Luckily, the nerves of her leg was still alive, but she lost almost half of her bones by her left leg so they had to insert metal rods around it, so that her chances of walking again would increase.
But unfortunately, the percentage of her walking normally for now, was not even half, according to the doctors. They told us that Kaori-san was lucky enough to survive the accident. I thought so, too.
"Thank you, Tadashi-kun for being here, we really appreciate it," Akiteru-san beamed at me ever so kindly, his face held gentleness.
I nodded, smiling back, "I'm glad to be here, Akiteru-san,"
"Mom's a real one, huh?" Tsukki muttered, taking both of our attention to him, Tsukki still had his arms crossed in front of him, not changing his expression, "Surviving two deaths . . ." He trailed, his voice cold as it seeps through the innards of my spine, Tsukki held his gaze on Kaori-san, not taking his stare off of his mother.
I pursed my lips together as I felt the room's aura suddenly shifted into a heavy one, Kaori-san's eyebrows pulled down together, her eyes still closed, "Kei . . ." She whispered.
Tsukki didn't respond, but still continued gazing towards her.
"I'm glad you're here," She sighed, her eyes opened in the slightest manner, as she peered over her blonde, snarky son, giving him a mother's gentle smile that didn't hide anything but purity and love.
Tsukki took a deep breath and letting it out with a shaky, unsteady exhale, he moved his head forward, using his both arms to support his head when he leaned over Kaori-san's bed, "I thought I'd lost you . . . again," He whispered, his shoulders shook violently as Tsukki didn't hesitate to hide his heart breaking sobs anymore.
Kaori-san's eyes welled up with tears, "Oh, honey . . . I'm sorry . . ."
The room was silent but the beeping of Kaori-san's heart monitor and Tsukki's involuntary sobs were the only present sounds in the room.
Akiteru-san and I watched Tsukki in awe, my chest felt like a drying pavement to see Tsukki like this. He didn't even tried hiding his emotions, even in front of his brother . . . and I. Akiteru-san bent over to rub the back of his crying brother.
"I thought I'd lost you, mom . . ." Tsukki repeated himself, again and again, until I realized that I had been crying with him, too.
Tsukki looked like a lost child . . . A crying child, crying for help. All those trauma washing over him as he let it all out from his eyes, each rake of emotions, shaking his slim frame, his trauma that I could almost see from my own naked eye. It was so raw and real.
"I'm so sorry, honey . . ." Kaori-san whispered, her tears cascading at her sides, "I caused you so much pain and you're still so young . . . You're still my little boy,"
Tsukki's respond was nothing but cries, sobs and sniffles, hiccuping and drowning in his own tears of hell. Recently, he had been going through a lot. Especially that I had knew almost all the things he had went through as a child.
He was in so much pain.
Not physically but emotionally damaged which I thought was worst because physical damage could heal, but emotionally, you would just carry it on your back like heavy baggages and would scar your soul. Forever.
I wish I could just take it all away from him.
