Room 112 . . .
113 . . .
114 . . .
I took a deep breath as I stood in front of the door, I checked Akiteru-san's message for the last time to see if I got the correct room number. I finally reach the door, brown and dull like all the others.
Room 114. This must be it.
I knocked softly on the auburn, hard door and gripped my bag tightly, I felt my breath hitched as I hear the door unlocking.
The door was opened by Akiteru-san as he greeted me with a small smile on his face. Sleeplessness and exhaustion was obvious on his face, dark circles under his eyes and his lips chapped. He blinked so slowly as if he would pass out any minute.
The room had that pungent smell of hospital disinfect, invading my nostrils. The room was silent apart from the beep sound you often hear in hospitals.
Akiteru-san is first to yawn, his mouth gaped. He has that slightly pink-eyed look and his shoulders slouched, "Kei's been asleep for a few hours now, he haven't slept for three days, until tonight when I told him you were coming," He whispered.
My eyes gazed around the room, and when my eyes finally landed where Kaori-san was laying limp, withered, and her face paler than before, without that smile she always wore. I thought I heard my heart broke.
My eyes stung with tears, my heart sunk down to my stomach when I saw Kaori-san laying on the hospital bed with severe, grotesque, purple bruises, freshly treated and sewn up wounds all over her face, with a bondage wrapped around her head - it was gruesome.
Her left leg had a few metal rods inserted around it, as if her leg was irreparably damaged. There were attached IV's, heart monitors and oxygen tanks on Kaori-san.
I shuddered, closing my eyes as a sigh left my lips, I couldn't bear to look at her. Akiteru-san placed a hand on my shoulder, rubbing it for comfort but I couldn't tick that heavy feeling off my chest.
I observed the room once again and my eyes landing on the familiar blonde. Tsukki had his head on the side of Kaori-san's bed, using his arms as his pillow. My heart melted from the sight of him. He was sleeping peacefully, his face soft, his appearance was one of gentle intelligence.
Tsukki still had his glasses on, it was placed unevenly, he must've been so tired he slept with his glasses on. His complexion was of a champagne rose in the early light, his cheeks rosier still, the light played upon his pale complexion, hugging every feature.
I wanted to hug him.
He must be so tired.
"You could sit on the couch, if you feel cold, there are spare blankets by the drawer," Akiteru-san strode across the room to reach something from his bag, "Uh . . . If you don't mind . . . Can I take a shower and just watch over Kei?" He collected his spare clothes and towel in his arms.
I pursed my lips and hummed in approval, "I don't mind, Akiteru-san," I smiled.
Akiteru-san nodded and walk over the bathroom door, "Oh, and if ever Kei wakes up, please make him eat something. He haven't ate anything," His eyes trailed down to the garbage bin, "But he sure likes that strawberry yogurt?" Akiteru-san chuckled silently, before entering the bathroom.
I peered over the garbage bin and saw three empty boxes of that strawberry yogurt I always drink. He must've liked it after all.
A smile crept on my face, walking over the drawer to get a piece of blanket, I went towards Tsukki and spread the blanket on his body, tucking him in, but he had a sudden intake of breath, sharply inhaling the air as his eyes slowly fluttered open.
My heart leaps to my throat as I felt nervous, making me froze on my feet. I know how Tsukki gets mad annoyed and cranky when someone disturbs him from his sleep . . . Especially knowing that he haven't slept in three days.
I stood there, preparing myself to apologize, he picked his head up from the bed and he rubbed the remainders of sleep from his eyes, his glasses moving up and down from the bridge of his nose, before yawning and groaning softly. He looked like a sleepy cat for some reason.
Tsukki's expressions were groggy, his eyes red from his lack of sleep . . . and crying, his lips dry and eyebrows pulled down together, frowning, he looked up to me, pushing his sliding glasses up on his nose bridge and his lenses dilates from realization.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up, I was just-"
Tsukki stood up, completely cutting me on mid sentence, he seemed uninterested with whatever I was saying as his eyes bore into mine with a bored and blank expression, he stepped closer to me and I hear my heart pound against my chest, I was worried he would get mad at me, telling me that I should mind my own business like what he always tell me.
He was so close. Tsukki haven't said a single word ever since he had waken up from his sleep, his long arms hastily pulled me into a hug - a tight one as his body relaxes against mine.
Tsukki squeezed me tighter in his embrace, "What took you so long?" He whispered, before he buries his head on my shoulder, sighing.
