Yamaguchi
"Do you think she'll like these?" I was smiling ear to ear towards Yachi-san.
She was peering over the bouquet of Higanbana and Chrysanthemums, holding it close to my chest, "I'm sure!" Yachi-san chirped in delight.
I decided to buy red spider lillies since they blossom these months of September until mid November. It's the fall season so Higanbana is very famous around these months here in Japan.
Yachi-san and I walked by the side of the street as we continued to chat about our Science Project and the third years graduating by next year.
"I'm pretty nervous about taking Kiyoko-chan's place, you have no idea!" Yachi-san chuckled nervously. Her face was tinted with bright red because of the cold weather.
I pursed my lips together before speaking, "It's going to be a lot different without them," I sighed.
"Yeah . . ." Her body slightly slump in disappointment.
The thought of our seniors leaving by next year is sad. I've only started playing volleyball with them from last year, and I couldn't believe it'll all be over soon. To think that Sugawara-san, Daichi-san, Asahi-san and Kiyoko-senpai would be leaving soon is devastating and sure is a lot of pressure for us first and second years to handle Karasuno's volleyball team.
The walk fell silent and after a few minutes from our walk to the bus station, Yachi-san initiated another topic, "So, what do you plan by next year? Do you still plan on studying in Karasuno?" She queried.
"Maybe?" I was uncertain with my answer as I was taken with the idea of my mom's plan of leaving Miyagi after a year or two, "My mom's planning to take me with her to Kyoto,"
Yachi-san froze and stared at me with wide eyes and raised eyebrows, "Kyoto?" Her voice sounded shocked.
I stared at her in confusion, "Yeah . . . Why?" I asked her out of curiousity by her unusual reaction.
"Well . . . Uh, my mom actually works there since her company where she works at has their own corporation in the city of Kyoto," She asserted, her voice growing bubbly.
I smiled at her, "It might be possible for us to even see each other,"
She hummed softly, a sparkle in her eyes, making her cheeks flush more, "If I'm lucky, then I guess we might," Yachi-san added before flashing her teeth into a smile.
Not long, we finally reached the bus station and I thanked her for coming with me and in helping with buying Tsukki's mom a present, I waved Yachi-san goodbye. Her house was just around the corner so she didn't need to ride the bus anymore. The sun was starting sink from the horizon and the sky was already becoming dark.
It sure is cold. I figured days are shorter than nights by the month of September until January. I already texted my mom about me coming over at Tsukki's house and I might go home late. She was fine with it as long as I get home safe. When I finally entered the bus, I felt my phone vibrated. I took my phone in my hand to check the message and saw Tsukki's name on the screen.
Tsukki: Where are you? It's getting dark.
Strange how he didn't want to come with me to buy his mom a present and now he's asking me where am I. I held the bouquet of flowers tightly with my other arm so I could type with my other free hand.
Me: I'm OMW there :) I got your mom her present already.
I sighed before the three dots, meaning 'typing' appeared on our conversation after five seconds of sending the message to Tsukki.
Tsukki: Hurry up.
I smiled over the text. Tsukki's never patient with anything. He likes things going his way but if he gets too stubborn, I ocassionally get mad at him. Sometimes I would even end up yelling at him. Tsukki never really cares but he'll listen if you'll be able to push some of his buttons.
People doesn't really see that he could also be playful and friendly. They only see Tsukki someone who doesn't like to talk a lot -- quite an introvert and stingy person that he is. They'd usually hear him talk but mostly in a sarcastic and snarky way. But he just doesn't like wasting his time on things he find useless or things that wouldn't pretty much benefit him.
The next bus stop would be the station near Tsukki's house. It would be a five minutes walk. I peered over the bus window until I could finally see the bus stop sign. As I step outside, a tall, slim figure from the shed strode towards me, I immediately figured it's Tsukki.
"Hey,"
"Hi," I gave him a small smile, "You didn't have to wait for me here,"
Tsukki shrugged his shoulders, "My mom wanted you to arrive in one piece, so . . ." His stare drag down to the bouquet that I held in my arms, "Seriously?" He scoffed.
I scornfully jeered towards him, "What?"
"You didn't have to spend money on some flowers, honestly could've just gave her a Sakura twig," Tsukki's expression recoils.
I couldn't help but giggle by his reaction, "It's fine. Besides, I'm visiting tonight after how many years," I let out an exasperated sigh before clinging to the bouquet.
Tsukki's eyes blinks as he stares at me and then back to the flowers, "Idiot. It's only been two years,"
"Oh, come on, Tsukki! It's not like you didn't miss me," I teasingly pushed him. I didn't really mean saying that, honestly. It sounded so cringe.
I didn't expect to say it out loud. Maybe because I was the one who missed this. Who missed him.
His face distorts in annoyance and I couldn't help but notice his cheeks flushing in light pink. I wasn't sure if it was because of the cold wind that's been hitting our faces for the past few minutes or is he blushing?
"Shut the fuck up, Yamaguchi." Tsukki's tone was harsh as he looked away in an instant and started to walk away, "Don't keep my mom waiting," Tsukki grumbled as he shove both his hands in his pockets.
"Sorry, Tsukki!" I giggled before following him from behind.
I missed this.
