THE VERY NEXT DAY, Elara sat on her bed feeling very unwell from all of the garden salad she ate. She laid her back onto the bed and stared up at the glass ceiling where she could see the stars shining ever so bright, where she could see the pale moon, and a few air mobiles flying around.
She tucked her knees up to her chest and glanced over to her night stand where she saw a drawing of her mother in a picture frame sat atop the nightstand. She bit her lip and sighed deeply, she squeezed her eyes shut.
The poor brunette missed her mother dearly, and it was so much it hurt her heart, sometimes it made her sick to the stomach to know her mother was still living in slavery with so many others on Tatooine.
She ran her hands over her face, her legs straightening themselves out and dangling off the end of the bed.
"Elara, are you okay?"
The Skywalker woman shot up from the bed to look at who was talking to her, only to see it was simply Obi-Wan who looked very concerned as he shut the door behind himself.
"I'm fine," she whispered, noting the bouquet of flowers in his hand. "What are you doing here? I thought you were in bed."
Obi-Wan shrugged. "I thought I would bring you these." he held the flowers up for her to see. She slinked off the bed. "I hope you like. . . blartree blossoms and lycandis'."
Elara took the bouquet and sniffed the sweetly delicious smell of the flowers. "I love them. Thank you." she beamed at him.
He breathed out in relief. "Well, that's good."
Elara chucklef and perched her flowers in front of the framed drawing of Shmi Skywalker, before she looked up through the glass ceiling and into the extremely beautiful night sky.
"Anyway, I think I must take my leave." Obi-Wan regretfully sighed. "Goodnight Elara."
She whipped her body around in confusion. He'd only just arrived, why was he leaving so soon? Was something amiss within Coruscant?
She looked him over and noticed he had a saddened expression. What was wrong?
"Obi-Wan, why are you leaving so soon?" Elara questioned, stringing her eyebrows together as she walked towards the Jedi Knight. "Is something the matter?" she asked.
He shook his head, he didn't exactly want to break the sad news to her. "No. . . it's just. . ." he trailed off and stared deep into her worried brown eyes. He had to tell her. "We're leaving again tomorrow at dawn."
She widened her eyes in surprise. "Already? You and Anakin had only gotten here a day ago though." Elara breathed out, a hint of confusion and sadness in her tone.
"Duty calls." he simply said and laced his hands together. "I'm sorry."
Elara downcasted her gaze, eyes darting between her feet and his. "What mission is it? Why can't you delay it or something until next week or next month?" she asked.
"Because it is something very, very important," Obi-Wan answered. "We are to save the Queen Breha of Alderann from getting killed."
Elara inhaled sharply. "If you say so." she turned around and crawled into her bed to stare at the ceiling once again. Obi-Wan sighed and sat down on the edge of her bed.
"We'll be back before you know it."
"I hope so."
"We will. Don't worry."
"Okay."
"I'll send Anakin up in the morning to say goodbye."
She gave him a nod, then he left the room to leave her to herself whilst she enjoyed the magnificent and magical night sky that stretched for many light years across the entire universe.
Elara rolled over on her side and shakily exhaled, her stomach twisting in knots for she had such a bad feeling about this mission they were going on, yet again she always did have these bad feelings before their missions.
She closed her eyes and slowly she drifted off to a comforting sleep.
A few hours into her sleep, Anakin crept into her room and crawled into the bed, slipping under the covers. Elara jolted awake and glanced back to see her brother who looked like he was about to cry.
Tears fell out of her eyes almost immediately and she hugged him tightly, he hugged her back right away for he did not want to leave so soon onto another mission with his Jedi Master.
It always seemed like his master inched to get away from this planet a day after they just arrived, specifically the Jedi's in general, or maybe it was from a certain Jedi he wanted to stay away from that was stationed on this planet, or maybe the Jedi council didn't like two Jedi siblings living on the same planet. It was almost like there was a disease on this planet.
Anakin didn't know which, but he had a feeling his master was trying to stay away from a certain Jedi. Who it was he did not know yet.
"Who are those flowers from?" Anakin suddenly asked as Elara buried her face into his chest.
She cleared her throat. "Master Obi-Wan Kenobi gave me them."
"Master Kenobi?"
"Yes. Why?"
He sighed. "Because Master Kenobi always told me attachment is forbidden amongst the Jedi. . . but him giving you flowers seems like more than an attachment to me."
Elara drew her eyebrows together. "But it is nothing more than a friendly gesture Ani, he is simply giving me a goodbye gift."
"No it is not," he scoffed. "Giving a gift is a form of attachment."
"No-"
"Whatever."
Elara rolled her eyes and flipped on her back, running her fingertips over her stomach and stared at the sky for the final time for the night.
They fell into a comfortable silence, listening to the noises of air vehicles whizzing through the air to get to their destination on the planet somewhere, or they were even leaving of entering the planet.
To be with Anakin in complete silence was comforting especially since he was her brother.
She wished it could stay like this forever.
