"THERE IT IS. . ." Obi-Wan spoke up, his voice low as he stared at the planet they were descending towards. "Kamino." Elara took a peek out the window and widened her eyes. From here, it looked gorgeous, so it made her wonder what it looked like when they entered the planet.
Obi-Wan flew the spacecraft down into the planet and took them into the clouds. Once they broke through the clouds, all they saw was water. It seemed like it stretched out across the entire planet. The moment they reached a building, Obi-Wan landed their spacecraft on the landing pad.
Rain plattered against the shield of the spacecraft. Elara pulled her hood over her head as Obi-Wan did also. He pushed a button which allowed the rain to soak into the fabric of their clothes.
Obi-Wan was the first to jump out of the spacecraft, as Elara stood up to exit it, Obi-Wan extended his hand out for her to take and she did, then he helped her down from the jet.
As they jogged towards the doors to the building, he shielded her head from the rain by using his own cloak to cover her from being completely drenched by the pouring rain.
Once they entered the building, they pulled their hoods off. Elara glanced around and noticed the entire building was mostly white. Interesting, Elara thought to herself. She looked at Obi-Wan and immediately knew he thought the same thing she did.
A lady with a long neck, black eyes, and a small head approached the Jedi. She was three times the height of Elara Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The creature spoke to them, her voice deep and soothing. "Master Jedi's. . . the Prime Minister is expecting you."
Elara squinted her eyes. "Who?"
"The Prime Minister," she answered.
"Why is he expecting us?" Obi-Wan questioned.
The creature didn't answer his question and ignored him. "He is anxious to meet you. After all these years, we were beginning to think you weren't coming. Now, please, this way."
Strange, Elara thought.
Obi-Wan turned to Elara and raised his eyebrows before he followed the creature. Elara frowned, she didn't exactly like this.
They followed the creature until they got to a sliding door and they entered the room to find another creature similar to the one who escorted them here sat in the room on a seat that hung from the ceiling.
He stood up the moment he saw the Jedi's. Their escort spoke up, "May I present, Lama Su, the Prime Minister of Kamino." Obi-Wan and Elara bowed to them. "And this is Master Jedi-"
"Obi-Wan Kenobi." He smiled, cutting the woman off.
"And I am Jedi Knight Elara Skywalker." Elara forcefully smiled, tilting her head to the side.
If anyone knew Elara Skywalker, they would be able to tell she was having a hard time with these strange creatures and how everything here looked. Obi-Wan reached his hand over to hers and latched his fingers onto her own, giving it a squeeze.
The Prime Minister glanced between the two Jedi with a nod. "I trust you are going to enjoy your stay," two chairs suddenly dropped from the ceiling, they both sat down. "And now to business, you will be delighted to hear we are on schedule."
Elara's eyebrows met in confusion. Schedule for what?, she thought in concern. Did the Jedi that erased Kamino from the archives come here and declare that he needed help to take down the order with their help?
"Two-hundred-thousand units are ready with a million more on the way." the Prime Minister said.
Obi-Wan slowly nodded as he processed that. "That's good news." he said, glancing over to a confused Elara. They both had no clue what was happening and why they were making these units for them.
The Prime Minister released a sharp intake of breath. "Please tell Master Sifo-Dyas that his order will be met on time."
Elara looked at Obi-Wan. She'd never heard of Sifo-Dyas. From the look in Obi-Wan's eyes, she could tell he looked a bit hurt from the mention of Sifo-Dyas, she realized he was dead.
"Master, who?" Elara asked.
Lama Su eyed them both. "Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas is still a leading member of the Jedi Council, is he not?" The Prime Minister asked.
Worry crossed into Obi-Wan's eyes. Elara bit her top lip, hoping that even though he was dead they could still get to the bottom of this and figure out why these people were strange and if they sent anyone to Coruscant to assassinate lately.
"Master Sifo-Dyas was kulled almost ten years ago." Obi-Wan informed Lama Su.
The Prime Minister frowned, seeming to be pained by that new information. "Oh. I'm so sorry to hear that, but I'm sure he would be proud of the army we've built for him."
Elara felt the color in her face drain, her jaw dropping. She was in shock that he said army, he was creating one for a dead man. What was Lama Su going to use the army for?
"The-the army?" she stuttered.
"Yes," Lama Su nodded. "A clone army and I must say, one of the finest we've ever created."
Obi-Wan spoke up. "Tell me Prime Minister, when Sifo-Dyas contacted you about the army, did he say who it was for?"
He nodded. "The army is for the Republic."
Relief washed over Elara. She couldn't have been more grateful that the army wasn't being built to go against the Republic. They could use these clones to help win battles against enemies. It would be a great asset for them.
"You must be anxious to inspect the units for yourself." Lama Su said.
"We are." Obi-Wan nodded.
