31. Familiar? ~

Y/n's pov:
I've been trying to figure out my pathway for the future but honestly, I might as well stay home and never leave

I was leaning towards becoming an auror but then the twins had offered me a job at their shop and ugh I just can't decide which one

I might work with the twins for a bit then making visit Tonks auror office and see how things manage

Hogwarts students have gone back to school and I've been writing back and forth to Harry whenever I can

He told me about a 'Half blood prince?' whatever that is because to be honest, it might as well be a fairytale but it's the magic world so who knows nowadays

I'm in my room sorting through stuff under my bed because believe me when I tell you, its a whole pigsty

I pull out a few boxes filled with stuff from my childhood when I pull out a very intricate box

I take a minute to look at it before I realise
'It's dads christmas gift to me'

I didn't want to open it in front of everyone but I guess with everyone that's been happening, I must've forgotten

I'm sorry dad please don't haunt me 😁

I pull off the lid to reveal a sparkling purple tissue paper

Taking that off, it moves to reveal a million items which I'm shocked as to how it could've all fit into this one box

A card sits on top with it being addressed to me:

Hey mini me,
It's christmas! or christmas eve or the day after christmas? whenever you decide to open this, I can't wait to see your reaction

I tried to wrap the gifts but then I remembered Id rather much not bother to wrap them than make them look horrible

I can't wait to spend this Christmas with you, Remus and Tonks of course, We'll be like a family again, I think

"Merry christmas dad" I say softly as tears slowly run down my face

I turn my attention back to the box filled with all sorts of goodies

I see some Zonko products, quidditch supplies too, but what caught my eye was a very beautiful necklace in a black box, the lid uncovered

I pick the box up, examining it before I feel as if it's very familiar to me

Before examining it for a few minutes, I take it out of the box and clasp it around my neck

After I go through my presents, I put majority of them on my nightstand, of course the supplies going into a drawer

I head out of my room and go downstairs, telling Remus and Tonks that I'm going to head out for a bit

After the usual 'keep your wand on you at all times, don't talk to strangers yadi yadi ya' I left the house and went to Diagon Alley, walking to the twins joke shop

I head in and little fireworks spark in my face before I go over to the pygmy puff display which I only recently found out was new

Ginny is stood there as well, holding a light pink puff

"Do you plan to get him?" I ask, her getting a bit startled at my presence

"I do but I'm not sure mum would want another pet after the whole scabbers situation years ago" she says reminding me of those times

"Sneak him in, I'm sure the twins would give you a discount" I say smiling at her

She securely holds the puff before walking over to find one of the twins

I stay at the display, looking at the small puffs when a presence comes up behind me, wrapping their arms around my neck

If it wasn't for the scent of gunpowder and cinnamon, I would've been completely oblivious to who it is

"Hi bub" he says placing his head on top of mine

I turn around giving him a hug

"Hello Freddie, busy today?" I ask

"Not really, most students are at school but we do get customers here and then" he says guiding me to the stairs and sitting down

"I didn't know you were coming" Fred says looking down on me

"Yeah I want planning on it but I was in Diagon Alley anyways so I figured I pop in for a bit" I say leaning my head on his arm

Time skip ~

I spent roughly another hour with the twins before I headed out

I wandered around for a bit before seeing a small cafe, instantly craving a butter beer

I head in and order the drink, wait a bit before receiving it

I sip on my drink as I head out, walking along the path

I look up and slightly freeze, seeing a very familiar black dog next to a brick wall

The dog spots me before coming over, and standing in front of me

Getting a feeling of déjà vu, I kneel down and give the dog a few pats

The eyes is what makes me confused

They were the same as dads but let's be honest, this could be any dog

I give the dog a few pats before standing up, making the dog whine

Feeling a tad bit sad, I kneel back down to the dog "Don't worry buddy, I'll be back" I say before standing up and watching as the dog walks off

I apparate back to 12 Grimmauld place, entering as I call out for Tonks or Remus

"In here dear!" I hear Remus shout, the voice coming from the kitchen

I walk in, Remus immediately standing up and walking over to me, scanning my face for any sign of injuries

Once he sees there are none, he walks back over to the kitchen table taking a seat

"How was the trip y/n?" Tonks asks sitting next to Remus

"It was nice, I visited the twins shop for a bit then I got some butterbeer but something was a bit strange to me" I say making them perk up a bit

"What happened?" Remus says suddenly interest

"I left the cafe from getting my butterbeer and like I saw a black dog, which was very similar to Dads animagus form but there's no way it was him I mean I saw him leave" I say making Tonks and Remus look at each other

"There's no way that could've been Sirius, he went through the veil we saw him go through" Tonks says getting slightly upset

"There's no way that was Sirius, Y/n I'm sure it was just a stray dog" Remus says trying to convince me

"Yeah it probably was, it was cute though wouldn't let me leave him" I say smiling at the thought of the dog
