Lily had left Heather by herself with Billy and because of her, the Mind Flayer had got her. She then remembered that neither Billy nor Heather had turned up for their shifts the following day, and Lily realised that if she'd known earlier, she may have been able to do something to help.

Steve processed what she'd said, then pulled her into a tight embrace, "Hey, it's okay" He said, gently, "Billy's still alive, so chances are, Heather is too" He assured her.

"Heather?" Robin said, "As in, Heather Holloway?"

Lily pulled away from Steve and nodded, "Yeah, and it's my fault. Before I left for the mall the other day, we found Billy in the showers. He was screaming and looked dreadful. I thought he was on drugs or something, but looking back, it was cause he was flayed. I left Heather with him" She sniffed, "I shouldn't have left her alone".

"Lil, it's not your fault. You weren't to know" Steve said, reassuringly, "And like I said, she could be alive. Billy is".

Knowing he had a point, Lily nodded, "Yeah, I guess" She shrugged, and brushed away the few tears on her face.

Robin watched her, in awe, "Woah, I've never seen someone switch moods that fast. I'm impressed".

Lily couldn't help but laugh at her, "Thanks, Buckley. I've gotta credit my shithead of a Dad for teaching me how" She smiled. This was true. She had spent years learning to go from crying in her room over something her father had said, to then laughing with her friends minutes later.

"Hey, heads up. You can navigate, just from someplace safe" Came Hopper's voice from across the foodcourt. The three of them looked over to where he was stood, talking to Dustin. They were out of earshot of the conversation, but Lily guessed it had something to do with them, as they both kept looking over and pointing.

Just then, Dustin whistled to them, "Guys, I'm gonna need your help!" He called, confirming her assumption. Lily pushed any thoughts of Heather to the back of her mind, deciding it wasn't worth overthinking the situation yet.

She followed Robin and Steve over to Dustin. Hopper handed Steve a set of car keys. "Okay, there's a convertible parked just outside" He began to explain, "And you're gonna drive it to wherever Dustin's radio thing is, got it? Then, on mine or Murray's signal, you guys are gonna direct us to this gate you saw in the base".
