𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞. She wanted to run. She wanted to run as fast as she could, away from the Creel Family, and her mother. But she couldn't. She couldn't move. Her heart was beating so fast she thought it would burst from her chest, and she was finding it hard to breathe. With a shaking hand, she reached up to rub the back of her neck; her skin was growing hot. Everything was slipping in and out of focus and she was aware of a strange sensation in her legs.

She caught herself before she could hit the floor, before she could pass out completely. She felt blindly for the wooden banister of the stairs behind her, and gripped onto it tightly. She closed her eyes, waiting for the unpleasantness to pass, waiting to feel steady again.

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer in the Creel house.

She was back in Hawkins Lab.

Henry was back in the same chair, while Dr Brenner finished up the tattoo on his forearm. A look of pain crossed Henry's face as the needle drew closer to his wrist. Brenner swiped a paper towel over the tattoo, "All done, not so bad, was it?" He said to Henry, reassuringly, "See. There's nothing to be afraid of. Is there, Lily?"

Lily jumped. She was still in a state of confusion, and not entirely with it, but was sure she'd just heard Brenner saying her name. Yet, he remained with his back to her, his focus seemingly on Henry.

But then, he turned to her, his face grotesquely distorted, "Why don't you take a seat?" He snarled, in an equally distorted voice.

Without hesitation, Lily bolted out of the room and into the corridor. She was fed up of Vecna, of his mind games, fed up of him scaring her. She wanted to get away from him. Her legs felt heavy, and there was no sign of a way out. Yet, she continued to run.

The lights were flickering and she could hear screaming.

She turned a corner and was faced with a dozen or so lifeless bodies, all wearing hospital gowns, and none looking over the age of twelve. Blood was splattered over the walls and floor, and several of the children's gowns were stained red. Lily yelped and quickly moved to one side of the corridor. Something bad had happened, something that was undoubtedly Vecna's doing, but as self-obsessive as it sounded, Lily was too preoccupied to care.

The door at the end of the corridor was boarded up.

Her heart sank. She began to wrestle with the wooden planks blocking the way out. They were nailed down tightly, but after pulling desperately at one plank, the wood splintered and broke. Ignoring the splinters in her hands, she started to pull at another.
