part three𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 that they were not a part of Nancy's plan, Lily and Steve practically dragged the two girls up to Nancy's bedroom to talk to them. Lily was particularly annoyed at Robin, her best friend, for not thinking to include her. She couldn't help but feel jealous of the two girls spending so much time together.
"Rob, seriously?!" She argued, as soon as they were in the bedroom, "Did you not think to make me part of this?"
Robin looked taken aback, "I asked Nancy to make you a fake identity, really I did!" She justified, "But, wherever you go, Steve goes and we need someone to watch Max. Someone that isn't Lucas or Dustin. They're fourteen-year-olds, they're not known for being reliable".
Lily opened her mouth to respond, realised Robin had a point, then closed it again. However, Steve, who had overheard this, chimed in, "You're out of your mind if you think we're babysitting them again!" He exclaimed.
"Okay, first of all, they're not babies anymore" Nancy pointed out, "And second of all, Max is in real danger. She needs people around her. As many people as possible".
"I know that, but why does it always have to be us?"
While Steve and Nancy started bickering, Lily turned to Robin, "Why can't just Steve and I go to the asylum?" She asked, which she thought was a reasonable question.
Robin sighed, "Cause it's Nancy's plan, she can't exactly not go. And like I said, wherever you go, Steve goes. So, unless the four of us go together, which isn't an option, that leaves Nancy and I as the best choice".
Lily sat down on the bed, "Fine" She frowned.
In classic Robin style, the younger girl had already disengaged from the conversation and was now distracted by Nancy's room, particularly by the poster she'd just noticed pinned to the wall. "Oh my god! You have a Tom Cruise poster" She exclaimed, then she paused, "You have a Tom Cruise poster? So does Lil" She repeated, with a coy smile, "God, you girls have a type".
Knowing Robin was referring to the "Steve looks like Tom Crusie" debate, Lily shook her head, "No, I'm not having that conversation again. I made one comment about Steve looking like him years ago, don't bring it up again".
"And that poster is super old" Nancy added, quickly. She looked over at Steve briefly and an awkward silence emerged. Robin wasn't yet aware that Dustin had brought up Nancy's potential crush on Steve the day before, but Lily shot a glare at the younger girl anyway.
