𝐁𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, Lily's nerves about the upcoming game had kicked in and she could only pick at the orange in front of her. The group were sat at one of the tables in the cafeteria, grimacing at the graze on Carol's ankle, which she had pulled onto the table for a second time, despite their protests.

"Carol get that away from me, it's gross!" Lily winced.

"Please do" Tommy nodded, poking at her ankle with the end of his fork, "It looks like it's been mauled".

"Alright, but I'm telling you, it's frostbite" Carol grumbled.

Lily rolled her eyes, "How could it possibly be frostbite, Carol? No one else here has a gammy ankle" She scoffed.

"And it was a heated pool" Tommy interjected.

"I don't care what it is, it's disgusting" Steve frowned, "Get it off the table, we're eating" He said, distastefully.

"Some of us are" Carol corrected, "Lil, you've hardly eaten. You're gonna pass out in the middle of the gym".

"I feel too sick to eat and I'd rather pass out in the gym than throw up" Lily shrugged, pausing to smile at Nancy, who had just taken a seat next to Steve, "And I ate a bagel after practice earlier, so I'll be fine" She finished.

"Here" Tommy said, handing her his fries, "Have these".

Just then, Nancy cleared her throat, "Tommy-" She began, reluctantly, "When you left last night, did you see Barb?"

Tommy looked at her blankly, "What?"

"Barbara" Nancy replied, "She's not here today".

"I have no idea who you're talking about" He laughed.

"Barbara" Lily repeated, "She was there last night".

However, Tommy was clearly in the mood for messing around and he continued to look at Nancy blankly, "I said, have no idea who you're talking about".

Steve frowned at him, "Come on don't be an ass, man. Did you see her leave last night or not?" He scoffed.

"No, she was gone when we left" Tommy shrugged.

"She probably couldn't stand listening to all that moaning" Carol laughed, and she and Tommy began to make a series of unnecessarily loud sex noises.

Having forgotten what Steve had told her the previous night, Lily looked at him eagerly, "So, you did it then?"
