She had been Queen Bee of Hawkins High for four years. She had been best friends with King Steve. However, people stared for a different reason now. She was the girl who had lost two of her friends in the 'fire' at Starcourt. She was the girl that had come back to high school as a different person.

She stood in the bathroom, wiping away the smudged mascara under her eyes. Above the mirror, scribbled in black pen were the words "Steve Harrington is hot". The graffiti had been there since junior year and she couldn't help but smile. At that moment, she wanted Steve by her side. High school wasn't the same without him or Cindy. Sometimes she even missed Tommy H and Carol. Her life had been normal when she'd been friends with them.

Just then, the door flew open and Robin came in, still in her band uniform, "Lil, what's up? I saw you walk out".

Lily looked at her, "What do you think?"

Robin gave her an almost pitiful smile back, "I thought so. Jason was a bit of a douche with that speech. As if Cindy would have cared about the basketball team. It's like he-"

"Rob" Lily interrupted her, "You're rambling again".

"Oh, my bad. Sorry" Robin frowned, "Are you okay?"

Lily shrugged, "I guess. I miss her, that's all" She said, quietly, "I miss my old life. I miss how things used to be".

"You mean, back when Cindy was still here?"

"Yeah" She nodded, "But I also kinda miss who I used to be. I've become this nerd that just hangs around school. I'm so the type of person I would have made fun of".

"Oh, definitely" Robin grinned, "You were a real asshole. 'Lily Andrews, Queen of Hawkins High'".

She grimaced, "That nickname always made me cringe".

"Yeah, it was pretty gross" Robin said, then she looked at Lily, sympathetically, "But seriously, you've changed for the better. I think it was good of you to come back to school, for Cindy. She'd be proud of you".

Lily felt tears prick her eyes again and she rolled her eyes, "Crap. You're gonna make me cry in front of you".

Robin, who was an extremely awkward person, reached into her bag and pulled out her mascara. "Here. You can't be walking around with mascara under your eyes. People will think you've turned into a goth" She chuckled.
